Are footballers the biggest hypocrites and most insincere people ever?

I am using Jadon Sancho as an example.
He was bought by Utd for £73 million in 2021 and declared it “a dream come true” and no doubt his achievement of 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 games for Dortmund elevated that price but then his achievements at Utd have been a paltry 12 goals and 6 assists in 82 games.
You can take the ongoing issues with Ten Hag out of the equation because those stats are prior to him being left out of the team.
He has now secured a loan deal back to Dortmund (although a deal of £3 million plus £3.4 million as a performance bonus doesn’t sound much of a “loan” to me.
And now that he has got his own way he is waxing lyrical about being back at Dortmund
“When I came into the dressing room (Dortmund) today it felt like coming home. I know the club inside and out. I’ve ALWAYS been very close with the fans here and I’ve never lost contact with those in charge. I can’t wait to see my team mates again, go out on the pitch, play football with a smile on my face, prepare goals, score goals and help qualify for the Champions League”
If he was so happy at Dortmund in the first place then why the fcuk did he leave. I wonder if £73 million influenced his decision.
Which also makes me think that surely when a player signs for a club there has got to be clauses to deal with under performance etc.

Did he ever get a proper run at United? I don't know but cannot remember him ever being a regular? He clearly has a lot of talent. It probably was a dream come true for him to go to United but after having a bit of a mare there with regards to playing he is also probably delighted to be back at Dortmund. Not so sure he's a hypocrite for saying both.

Most footballers are just not very bright.

In JS's case, his big money move to Manure hasn't worked out, for whatever reason and this move back to Dortmund is probably sensible for him at this time.

Can't really blame him for 'bigging up' his move back there.

I always thought he was making a big mistake joining man ure.since joining them he has lost his place in the England squad, let’s see how he fairs after a few games where he was happy ?

Couple of things here:

If Sancho is not happy to receive criticism from whoever is his manager, then his career will be limited wherever he goes

Going to Man Utd appears to be a career killer. How many promising young players have moved to United in the last 10 years and failed to reach their potential? Too many for it to be a coincidence

I beg to differ on that one.

Dortmund bring in young players to develop and move on for profit. I don't think many players who go there are allowed to stay long enough to lose the value they put on them.

Maybe he did but I can't remember him causing any problems to force a move when Dortmund weren't ready to sell, just that the time was right. They've both done well for each other. He played his best football there and got in the England team. They slapped Man Utd for a big fee because it's easy to do with them with how they are run.

Football is a cliché ridden business. These statements mean very little. The players know it and so do many of the fans. File in the 'ignore' cabinet.

Never mind the player what about his club?
They pay 75 mill for a player who's then frozen out because the manager doesn't like him. Then they loan him back to the same club for 5 months and pay them 3 mill for the privilege. Oh and then pay 100 grand a week towards his over inflated wages.
Football is bonkers. Manchester United are bonkers and don't deserve to be anywhere near the Champions League . Dortmund definitely do. They must be laughing their bollocks off.

99% agree on all that
Although Sancho was not one of Ten Hags purchases there is no evidence to suggest he didn’t like him.
Sancho did start games under Ten Hag but when Sancho publicly slated Ten Hag that is when things went pear shaped for him and under the circumstances I fully agree with Ten Hag’s decision.
Had it been Fergie then Sancho would have been gone immediately.
I personally think he is a overhyped footballer
