Following on from the thorough advice I received from the good folk of AVFTT re a new computer (chromebook), do the AVFTT technical experts think this will be OK for mainly surfing the web ?

Edit to add - I'm paying about £365 + £5 next day delivery, that sounded good to me for the 8GB ??????????????????????

If all you want is surfing the web, than it looks fine and it’s a reasonable price.

If you want to do anymore than that you will probably need a better processor (intel i5 or i7) and more storage - BUT that comes at a cost.

Hope this helps 👍

fuck me you could surf the web with a pentium 486...i watched this thread and the previous longer one with interest but refrained from commenting. If all you do is surf the Web even the cheapest second hand laptop from cash convertors would be fine. All this bollix about i5 or i7 chips or 4gb or 8gb is all irrelevent shite if you just want a ** Web browser...

I agree with Trammo. If you just want to surf the internet and perhaps do your emails then there are better value tablets

I have one yes it’s a decent build, can you get cheaper models, but with this it will run all day on a single charge and be available 2 seconds after opening the lid.

Edit: Also sounds like stream will be available soon, so you’ll be able to play Footy Manager!

Rag

You are not the only person that's said that to me.

I'm just going with the new one as it seems a fair price but to be honest I am absolutely clueless.

Appreciate the advice.

Old 486, old windows, lots of viruses and how many times do you buy stuff online and add passwords? Ignore the Luddite you’ve gone the correct route and that will last you at least 5 years and not have to worry about virus, o/s updates etc..etc..
