Starmer would never be so daft as to do that. She’s a Bozo cultist and bonkers as well.Nadine was extremely pissed off with Rishi for not granting her a peerage.
Rumours are she secretly met Keir and struck a deal to sabotage her Party in exchange for a peerage from the incoming Labour Government.
Hell hath no fury !!!!!
Sorry. Archibald.Starmer would never be so daft as to do that. She’s a Bozo cultist and bonkers as well.
A rumour might have been spread from MP to SPAD to cleaner to Commons tea room waiter hopefully encouraging her to misbehave, that’s politics after all. But Starmer involved? Never.
Wouldn't surprise me at all.Apparently, there is a strong rumour that Jeremy Hunt will stand down as Chancellor and not contest the next GE.
Why? Because his current seat has been abolished and split in two and the constituency that has adopted him has a Tory majority of only about 5000. So Hunt does not want to be remembered as the Tory with the next “Portillo spectacular” in the GE.
and what about the house of commons, should also be put to bed. under 45% turnout and you become a MP maybe PM.its about time that the house of lords was put to bed and replaced with a 200-300 member PR elected second house.
What’s your suggested alternative then? Nothing?and what about the house of commons, should also be put to bed. under 45% turnout and you become a MP maybe PM.
Jaun Carlos and his entourage were distictintly corrupt and dodgy as well in Spain.Sorry Ollygon, I am not very good at seeing jokes.
I too like Michael Portillo for all the reasons you gave. He was a fairly unpleasant Tory MP but he is now very likeable and his train journey series are quality TV.
It’s quite amazing how many journeys he has done. He must spend half the year on tour. Nice work if you can get it.
I particularly enjoyed the one on Spain where he explained how his father had fled from Franco’s fascists in the Civil War, and how Spain was recovering over the decades since 1975 but that there were still tensions between left and right.
certainly needs to be reformed, MP's don't really represent their constituents anymore, in most cases the constituents are the party and party donors.and what about the house of commons, should also be put to bed. under 45% turnout and you become a MP maybe PM.
Best keep it as it is then, its not broke and everybody is happy with the big two winning. More people read my posts than vote at local/bye/general elections. What’s your suggested alternative then? Nothing?
I stayed up long enough to see Portaloo lose his seat. Where is Stephen Twigg these days?Apparently, there is a strong rumour that Jeremy Hunt will stand down as Chancellor and not contest the next GE.

probably branched out into other things.I stayed up long enough to see Portaloo lose his seat. Where is Stephen Twigg these days?
rory stewart does a podcast with alastair campbell. the rest is politics. worth a listen.Wouldn't surprise me at all.
Were Johnson still an MP, he'd be feeling very vulnerable in his Uxbridge constituency, purely because of the majority he had.
As Kevin Keegan would say, I'd love it for a few Tory sleazeballs to get humiliated.
I still remember the Portillo moment. Strangely I now think he's rehabilitated himself, and I love his TV series.
I was talking to an old colleague who's mad on railways, and Portillo is an absolute hero to enthusiasts because he personally intervened and saved the Settle to Carlisle line, and of course the Ribblehead viaduct.
He's definitely up there with Rory Stewart as my favourite Tory ex MP.
