If Critch is looking for a defensive midfield player who is strong in the tackle and has a good range of passing, he should take a look at Rochdale's Arron Morley. Only 21 and will only get better!

If Ward is out for a prolonged period and Stewart continues to be a sick note, besides Kenny we have no other central midfielders. James is just a stopgap and Virtue will not be back for months! Antwi is not ready and he needs to go out on loan after last night's display.

Connelly can play in that position get a right back asap the 25 man squads will have to be named soon after the deadline day( next Tuesday) normally within 24hrs we don't need another untried person at this level they have to be oven ready to improve the team now.

Looks like the manager doesn't agree with you. In tonight's Radio Lancashire interview he states we will now have to get a replacement for Ward!
