Assistant manager

What about someone really experienced like Terry Connor, with Mick Mc Carthy in the Prem and with ROI. A voice of experience and reason.

Get thommo back. Not only a good conduit for the players and management he is a great coach. We might even start to work on set pieces too 🎣

Tommy Standerwick or Dave Duple. Old school coaches both good enough to get the team motoring onwards and upwards.

What about Paul Simpson? His comments on Radio Lancs were spot on, and he has masses of experience as a player and manager..

I think he's left as assistant coach at Bristol City........ Oh, just checked Wikipedia and it says:

"Simpson temporarily stepped down from his coaching role at Bristol City in July 2021 while receiving treatment for kidney cancer."

Further research from a December 2021 newspaper article contains good news:

"Thankfully, following successful surgery to remove one of his kidneys five months ago, Simpson was given the all-clear from doctors and worked as recently as October with Bristol City."

He's a northern lad - Carlisle - and he might be happy to return to the area. Might be worth thinking about?

We need someone just to knock the naivety out of Critch. Trying to be so honest playing games when we have Covid, first XI in cup. He could do with taking a leaf out of his old bosses book at Liverpool in terms of when and where to play the best team.

I'd love to see Simmo back here, one of my favourite ex Seasiders and he's got so much experience of playing, coaching and management. Speaks really well.
