Astra Zeneca suspended

In Norway, Denmark, Italy and Austria pending investigation around blood clots following vaccination.

We're cracking on regardless.

More for us then.

Can't wait for my jab 👍

23 million (no idea about the split) and I've heard nothing about anybody having a serious adverse reaction in this country.

Maybe it's our superior blood or something?

Or maybe it's all a conspiracy of silence.

The impact of declining infections and deaths is obvious and without being dismissive, worth the risk of the occasional incident.

That’s it, just pick out a negative hole in the argument which changes nowt.

The problem they will face now after this unconnected nonsense, is that they will end up with empty vaccination centres when it’s finally approved - as seen in Germany.

Some key extracts from the EU medicine regulator report:

“It said the number of cases in vaccinated people was no higher than in the general population.”

“It said there had been 30 cases of "thromboembolic events" among the five million Europeans who have received the jab.”

So these are essentially general public events, on a normal - to be expected scale. 0.0006%

There's bugger all risk it's just nervy officials.

Far too many real life vaccinations given since the drug was approved for it to be suspect. All of these doubts arise from anti-UK adverse publicity following brexit. As said above, the EU is desperate to find a problem with the AZ vaccine.
Good theory. Norway isn't in the EU.

The argument that Norway want to shame us to cover up the EU mess?

That argument?

The sad thing is none of you realised Norway aren't in the EU.
No the fact you jumped on the mistake over Norway not being in the EU instead of the fact the AZ info was garbage.

Two more who don't know that the the EU and the EMA are not the same.
They are though, the EMA is a scientific body of the EU, I'm not sure where you're getting your information from.

Norway have signed up to the EMA to save money, but it's irrelevant to the 'EU GETTING REVENGE!!!!!!!' conspiracy theory touted above as a) the EMA approved the vaccine and b) NORWAY AREN'T IN THE BLOODY EU!

Thank you.

Not even close. The EU is a political and economic group of 27 countries. The EMA is an independent agency in charge of the evaluation and supervision of medicinal products.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is a decentralised agency of the European Union (EU) responsible for the scientific evaluation, supervision and safety monitoring of medicines in the EU.

Why are so many people so desperate to have a go at the EU about everything, they did it when we were in it and they still do it now that we are out.
Just get on with being Europes sole trader, the Trotters Independent of the international stage, and worry about our own affairs.
We now have to live and die by our own decisions, what the EU does effects us but we don't get a say in it, that's what we voted for.

They want to find something wrong with the Astra Zeneca vaccine to
distract people from the EUs awful performance in protecting its citizens

I suspect it's more a case of the EU has convinced the member states (and others) that there's something wrong with the vaccine, so regulators are withdrawing it on spurious grounds "just to be safe".

Probably because on the opposite side of the coin every time something here goes wrong the Remainers on all over it like a rash be it a Ham sandwich, Dutch bike shop imports or empty shelves in NI(not true) etc. 👍

As bad as each other then. This country is becoming more and more polarised in its views, once again we seem to be replicating the worst aspects of the USA in the UK.

The one where you implied that the EMA was rather more detached from the EU than it actually is.

I said "The EMA is an independent agency in charge of the evaluation and supervision of medicinal products"

Are you disputing that the EMA is an agency, that it's independent or that it's in charge of the evaluation and supervision of medicinal products?

It's not quite independent, is it? Funded by the EU and legally answerable to the Commissioners, isn't it?
