Attention all Nobbers

My mate owns Charlie James, pretty sure he does butter pies. Having previously lived in Preston for 30 years, I didn't mind the odd one now and then.

Butter... Pies?, is that cause Prestoneers can only comprehend VERY basic food combos?, Is it washed down with some meat soup and accompanied by a salt sandwich?.

That being said I did grow up in Blackpool in the 80s, I remember when any pasta outside of spag bol was considered foreign witchcraft.

We had Vol a vonts

Heard them mentioned many times but wtf is a butter pie?

Found out now, give it a miss.
Basically a potato and onion pie in a short crust pastry, usually served with either pickled beetroot or red cabbage. No meat and quite nice actually.

They was made for Catholics, so we could eat pies on Fridays, at one time it was every Friday we had to give
meat a miss.
