Across the road from Devonshire pub(corner of Warley rd) did my Van key way cheaper than car dealer and came to house.

I got a spare key for my Astra from this bloke :

It cost £105 which is £250 less than Vauxhall & £70 less than Timpsons.

He arrived on time on a Saturday & it took him about 20 mins, job done. Plus he gave me a new fob that flipped open the hatch independently (didn't know my old Astra was that clever 😀).

The only thing is that he is based in Preston but I thoroughly recommend the bloke.

My missus melted my old Ford fob in the microwave (keyless entry fob) and Ford quoted me £300 at the time. Found a fob on ebay for around £40 and got a place online to do it. Sorry I can't remember the name but was based in Preston and had good reviews and did it for £125. Worked fine.

This was a few years back so prices will have changed

I just bought my own fob off eBay. Tapped out the rivet on the new key, tapped out the rivet on my old key and reattached to the new key. Popped the circuit board and battery from the old key fob to the new and Bob is your uncle. Bit faffy but cost a total of £2.99.

Have you any other money saving tips, like bypassing gas/electric meters.
