Away fans in corporate

Why have they started to put away fans in corporate right above the NW corner. They go to all the trouble of segregating away fans in the East and then let a load of gobby away fans in corporate right above the home fans with no policing and no security literally feet away from each other. It nearly kicked off again before a couple of useless door staff tipped up. It really does need looking at as anything could be thrown or a fight start as it nearly did today.

First rule of football, don't trust football fans....
Second rule of football,... Don't trust football fans.....thought everyone knew this rule.... All football fans can't be trusted not even the grown up ones with a better gras of English than me.

Because the club only care about making as much money as possible, hence giving one of the loudest support bases in the league 3,800 tickets, basically nullifying our home advantage.

I’m sure another exclusive bar or new showers at Squires Gate will come of it, so 100% worth losing that advantage…

Keep saying it an extra 2000 away at £29 a pop = £58k.
As Mansford said " If you look at the £91m figure SS is proposing to put into the Club, that would get bigger if we didn’t utilise sales to away Clubs in the East Stand."

When we are looking for any and every advantage to try and stay in this league then £60k / game is frugging peanuts.

Oh boo boo, the other people are singing and we're a bunch of moaning twats.
It's nothing to do with singing. It's the potential for violence that I am referring to. If you think about all the segregation of fans before and after the game by police and stewards. Yet this area is totally neglected and a potential flashpoint and free for all.

True about the money, we see this in every aspect of the club and some makes sense, some doesnt, but if our team was even level then our fans were more than a match for the away end.

Sadly the team capitulated and we are also a team cut adrift in the relegation zone, so always going to be a bit gloomy when behind and the away side buzzing at that score.

The away end doesn't nullify, the score and league position did.

Although obviously having fans at both ends makes it very encouraging for away teams.

Why wouldn’t we give them 3800 tickets, why wouldn’t we sell corporate to them. Football is always about making money. We didn’t however lose the game Cus they had 3800+ fans, we lost it Cus we ain’t good enough. Simple as that. If we went to Cov and wanted 4000+ tickets we could have them. If I wanted to buy corporate for me and 10/15 mates I could. We would never sell the seats so give the seats to them.

So £1m a year is something we can turn down?

Where else do you think that money is coming from?
The difference between Championship and lge 1 TV £ is £8m.
Add to that not every team will fill it out. So even accounting for it being used 11 times its still £660k v losing our vocal home advantage.

I actually thought our support was better in the first half

The two goals killed it
Exactly, considering how poor we've been at times and cut adrift at the bottom in serious relegation trouble, playing mostly poor football, it's pretty remarkable we can even compete never mind out sing.

Away fans have all the advantages too, pissed up on their big day out, usually the best of the clubs support all together, in that low roof east, they're going for the playoffs too.

There's no way that many pool fans would be outsung just for being level away from home if roles were reversed.

At least Bloomfield Road produces a great atmosphere. Lots of Championship grounds don’t. Ashton Gate last week was like a morgue and the Ricoh arena isn’t much better either.

Are you still planning an increase in capacity with the new stand ?

How will that affect away numbers?
No one is really any the wiser, all we got was a cost per seat and that sadler wants to keep it 'small' as not to have tons of empty seats and a lesser atmosphere.

But what is small, anything under 20k could be a small ish stadium.

The inital plans for the community pitches by the north appear to show a building in the NE corner so maybe no corner built, but nothing official actually released about the stand yet.

Sounding like it could just be a replacement of similar capacity from what hes said, but that helps the usuable capacity go up compared to now.

Should be some news in the coming weeks or months.

Hopefully get a slight increase though.

Surely you mean the club only care about not losing any more than the 93 million SS has committed?

Making money :)

Who do you think is making money out of BFC?

As usual a thread goes way off.
The OP was asking why the club are mixing home and away fans in corporate.

It doesn't matter how many tickets the club sells to away fans as long as they are segregated. What you don't want are away fans literally yards away goading the home fans with little to no stewarding/policing.
The situation at the NW corner yesterday (where I was directly below said Coventry fans) was a bugs dick from becoming extremely violent.

That's the best way I can describe it without admin pulling my post as they did last night🙄

And in the next breath you'll be complaining that not enough money is being spent on improvements........jeez,

Exactly. It seems to have gone rather off topic.

I was in hospitality yesterday and there were quite a number of Coventry fans.
Other than cheer for each of there 4 goals ( admittedly it did anger me ) they were fairly quiet
It’s revenue the club should accept providing the away support remains respectful etc

Obviously nowhere near the NW corner then

That's my whole point. They weren't respectful and went out of there way to antagonise home supporters hence it nearly kicking off.

Nearly every ground in the country allows away fans in corporate if there's availability with no colours on.
If our club can't police it right that's on them not those who've bought and come to watch their team.

What about when they’re threatening home fans? One of whom had to leave with his young lad.

You throw them out are you saying we should ban ALL away fans in corporate because of a few mindless idiots yesterday?

You just need to police it better as most times when there in that section nothing happens same at most grounds.

I never said anything of the sort.

Was it just more noticeable because Coventry scored 4 goals against us yesterday and so much on the game for us?

I was in the matthews yesterday and on balcony yesterday, we are talking about 2/3 tables max from 300 or so away fans in there, not that many is it. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I never said anything of the sort.
I answered your question then asked you a question hence the question mark at the end.

I remember getting set on by a group of Rangers fans for a friendly years ago in corporate and no security within distance.
If your going to take their coin then at least police it properly.

I thought about climbing up there but I’d of been giving them an advantage the time it would of took if I was sat up there I’d of laid into them and I voiced my opinion to the stewards at half time they said they were sorting it, it took an age to get rid of them.

Thought North Stand was pathetic yesterday , they were chanting “ you only sing when your winning “ at 1-1 , at 1-4 they disappeared.

You'd need to look at the club's books to find that out.
The club financially seems to be on a firm footing despite the mess the Oystain family left us in.
Mr Saddler has done well for the club.
As far as financial fair play is concerned the EFL should hang their heads in shame.
Reading, Huddersfield, QPR, Sheffield Utd, Wigan and god knows who else are all close to administration by over spending and Sheffield look to have been rewarded for the gamble.
The others, you only need to look at their league position to see they've failed miserably.
Two will most probably be relegated, and it's rumoured that Huddersfield will be in administration this week, take the points reduction and start next season with a clean slate. It's utterly ridiculous and the punishment is zero in reality as they will be relegated anyway.

I'd rather be BFC in our financial situation than a club in debt and in the league above, struggling. There will be football next season at Bloomfield Rd, that's all that matters to me.
