Awful with 11 men, great with 10

Too many passengers and slow players today. Carey for most the game, Oakley-booth etc.

I thought I they looked OK on the ball but we didn't half gift them some goalsand chances that shouldn't have been.

The 1st was weak from a few players but then Thompson jumped after the ball and missed it. Better to watch the ball and block the guy.

Casey just had to head the ball back to the keeper and faffed about and then challenged their player, totally unnecessary. Was it a red? Not sure but it seemed harsh and unnecessary as a genuine attempt.

We didn't press well at all with 11, we had slow strikers chasing down people with little support.

We only really started playing properly with 10.

Even the last goal was a complete pass to them under no real pressure which sealed their win and undid all our comeback.

Also. Surely Grimmy could have saved one of those goals, did well on the pen but beaten on his side from the freekick and nutmeged for another.

We're letting in far too many cheap and needless goals.

Great spirit and nearly a comeback and played some excellent football but the damage was done from a poor selection, setup and application 1st half.

Dembele again 'not good enough' to start but comes on and causes all sorts of problems 🤔

One other annoyance was that with Kouassi on we go long too easily, as is always the case with Blackpool, when we have a big man on. At times we're we're just giving the ball away aimlessly.

Just far too much wrong today, we can't seem to put any sort of decent run together and the manager has to take some of the blame with his chopping and changing, some of it ott.

Good game for the neutral but I don't have that luxury. I did enjoy the game but outcome massively affected by bad decisions from a poor ref. The sending off challenge right in front of me was an attempt to play the ball( not a cynical hack to prevent a goalscoring opportunity) and we had one if not two players coming across to provide cover, so a yellow card. The placing of the ball was moved a yard to the left which the ref missed and got wrong again on the offside where he allowed the kick to be taken in our half therefore no offence committed-this is basic stuff. Also think he missed a pen for us in 2nd half looked like one from 60 yards away but occasionally I struggle to read my app messages from 6 inches so perhaps not the best judge.
On the game don't think there any complaints that we lost or would there be if we had come back to get a 3-3.
Thought all the players put a a good shift in with honourable mentions for Thompson, Pennington and Kenny, often have a go at Carey but fair play he also had a good game. Grimmy saved a pen but could have done better on the free kick goal and Kouasi had two good chances first half (shot and header) but missed target on both occasions. On another day things might have gone our way but non-league Fleetwood up next win there and it's 3 pts from two games, keeps us on target for around 70 pts.
Big thanks to those who got me a birthday present, you know who you are.

Interestingly Blackpool (Grimshaw) are currently bottom of the L1 rankings when it comes to ‘Save %’, which suggests that our keeper isn’t performing quite as well as he ought to be.

Awful with 11 men, great with 10, which rather begs the question: how would it have turned out if we'd actually started the game with 12 angry men (1 sub included)? Perhaps pressure Tim to give up the day job in order to try his hand as a consultant you-know-where. Cometh the hour, cometh the TAM ...

I accept he’s trying his best and he’s preferable to Beesley but he’s just not good enough.
I really don’t understand some of our fans. Kouassi is in his first year at this level. He is young. It is already clear that defenders don’t like playing against him and he is a real unit.

Anyone who witnessed his cameo against Liverpool under 21s knows he is going to be some player.

I don’t know what people expect from him but I am delighted he is here and deserves our patience as he develops into the quality forward he will undoubtedly become.

How is it clear defenders don’t like playing against him? I don’t want a real unit up front, I want a footballer with pace technique and vision. It’s not WWE Wrestling

I'm not sure about his pace, it is often deceptive with bigger players, but he certainly has great technique and vision... He's young and he's got a lot to learn, but he's a very talented young man and we've done well to sign him.

Kouassi is still very young an inexperienced, so will be hit and miss, we also haven't played to his strengths in the last game and only 2nd half did we really create the sort of chances he take.

We are probably guilty of getting a bit overexcited a little early, but he has potential and is learning fast.

Or his defence is absolutely pants
Save % is the percentage of on target shots that the keeper saves, so it's not really about the Defence as a whole. In fact as a defensive unit, only Stevenage and Portsmouth have conceded less shots on target than us and we have the 5th best record for clean sheets.

To put into context the very best keepers in League 1 would have conceded 9 less goals than Grimmy this season, based on their Save %.

Ok, but, we deserved to lose yesterday

I’m more concerned about the midfield defensively but more so creatively - that’s the problem (it’s not the keeper)

But hey, we’re in L1, and some think that’s fantastic (Phil) so it’s all a bit achademic

C u at Bromley after Fleetwood (!)

Well bearing in mind we've conceded 9 More goals than we otherwise might, this season.... And our keeper has conceded dodgy goals both yesterday and in other recent games, it clearly is a potential problem.

Don't forget we also played with 9 men for a short period.

Is it any wonder the remaining players on the pitch were completely shot at when the fourth goal went in?

I really don’t understand the expectation of some people. Kouassi is clearly talented and perhaps some have only seen the odd game but I would say he is the best partner for Rhodes.

The 4th goal went in because we gifted it to them , and not for the 1st time.
The free kick after the sending off was pathetic defensively. I was right behind the goal and could see where the shot was going. The defender was conned by the movement of their player and let Grimshaw down.

We've conceded 12 goals in our last 6 games. Having conceded no goals in our first four league games.

What's changed?

But I thought Hamilton Achademicals (sic) were a team in the League north of the border?
