I said I'd reserve comment until after the Wigan game. Before NC jumped ship last time he was tinkering and messing around with formations etc. Far to slow, to slow on the ball, no movement, marvs is in a trance for 5 mins building upto his pass, and the longer he takes the worse it ends up. ON drops to get the ball, drops to deep n ends up punting it over an empty Midfield n passed SL
 
I don't get what we are trying to do with our midfield. I don't mind 532/352 as a formation but we have Norburn playing deep then our other 2 central midfielders are playing far too wide which just leaves huge holes in cm. Our passing is far too slow. We look a poor side with absolutely zero threat. 2nd half to give him his credit I thought Albie Morgan played well but even so still too wide.
 
In all these years on AVFTT I’ve never seen us have a bad performance. It’s always awful, horrific, terrible, dogshit, unacceptable, embarrassing, worst performance in a tangerine shirt I’ve ever seen, etc.

I mean it’s quite incredible over the course of the last 4 seasons how many ‘worst performances in tangerine’ alone we have put in according to AVFTT. Either we win comfortably and will go up as champions, or we somehow find an all new low.

If by long time you mean ‘this season’ then fair enough. We definitely played worse football shortly before Dobbie took over.

I thought it was an attempted diamond in the first half, with Norburn deep, Carey at the forward point, and the other two as wide auxiliaries. Just left a big gap in the middle. Better in the second half and we created some control, but we're missing the final ball.

He clearly was very uncomfortable on the ball last night. The mystery to me was how often we kept passing the ball to him.
Contrast that with Andy Lyons, who could have sat next to me for the first 30 minutes, as no one in a Tangerine shirt knew he was on the pitch. Just a shame the other 10 couldn't see how much space he was creating.

Jeez that was a 5 star performance compared to some dog shite performances in the past.
Yes it was a bad first half but only a few months ago we were 3-0 down at halftime to a struggling Cardiff.
Remember the terrible start we had under Critchley. Gillingham away for example.
Peterborough away must be one of the worst performances I have seen.
Dont remind me of the Hendry days including a drubbing at home to Stockport or the 5-0 home defeats by York under different management.

Some of you remind me of Simon Cowell on the X factor auditions. “That was the worst performance I have ever seen”
Next week rinse and repeat and so on.

Big Marv is a brilliant defender, probably the best in this division, he should be left to do that, win the ball and give it to the closest free player, I'm baffled why others continue to give him the ball and put added pressure on him.

i thought Morgan was decent tonight but agree with Carey he is offering nothing and certainly not started the season off well. Early days though….
