Yep, the true identity of the owners has been unclear for some time.
The club reckon that the charges have arisen from their own investigations, and they (and the fans) are hoping that this will count in their favour....
This could have contributed to Michael Duff's quick exit after just one season.

So that's Reading and Barnsley above us in the betting odds who could be in for a rough season and I still fail to see why Bolton are up there.

It’s ironic really. Surely if the EFL were doing their due diligence this kind of thing shouldn’t be happening in the first place.
Yes they are our rivals but I’d prefer us to go up on what we do on the playing field and not on the back of other Clubs failings at the hands of dodgy owners, especially as in this case the club don’t appear to have benefitted from the shenanigans.

How do we know they haven't benefitted? They made the playoffs so clearly had a very competitive team; where did the money come from for that? It might all have been above board, but if so why hide the identity of the true owners? As always it's the fans who will suffer.
