Being selfish

I'm prepared for people to say I'm crazy but this selfishness that many are being accused of I believe stems from the Human Rights Act which has been hijacked to be interpreted as as right to do anything one pleases. So some people just simply do exactly what they want irrespective of the law or how it might affect others. Sadly for me that's the world we now live in. I've put my tin hat on !!

A consequence of Thatchers 'There is no such thing as society'. Since then all emphasis has been on the self

Feck all to do with Thatcher Wiz and you know it.

Thatcher was a strong high achieving woman, you don't have to agree with her policies but she had manners and class and I am struggling to think why she should be the root cause of the actions of others 30 years after she left office.

Your assessment that there is an increased selfishness nowadays is, I think, correct. However, your analysis placing the cause of this on the existence of the Human Rights Act is, I think misplaced. We live in a highly commercialised world which places an emphasis on having things and having them now! That is a more profitable source of study when considering the cause of modern day selfishness.

So buying allot once a month or buying what you need every few days is selfish. I can't believe that someone who is trying to self isolate as the world is recommending is then being pilloried for not wanting to meet Covid 19 victims every few days.
The worlds gone mad.

By not leaving some for everyone else, it means that while that one person is fully stocked for weeks, dozens of people are having to not only make a trip to the supermarket every day, but often multiple supermarkets multiple times a day just to find what they need. You could get round a shop in double quick time if everything was available and where it should be. I can understand why people are doing it, but they aren't considering others.

In fact Wiz, I am genuinely surprised at your post....you are an intelligent person and KNOW what you typed is pure garbage. Hate Thatcher by all means but I don’t think she has caused this panic buying has she??

Watched a Netflix film this morning called The Platform. It was released yesterday and is worth a watch. The first hour is great, but the second half isn't as good. Not for the squeamish, so be warned. All about how selfish we all are and how class systems work.

Most of the people doing the panic buying weren't even born when she was in power it was that long ago.

There are lots of local independent retailers if your a nurse and you want less of a shop. leave the big retailers deal with the month shoppers.

It's a quote . She said it, and we've never been the same since.

Quote from Thatcher all you like Wiz but if you are trying to blame her for everything that happened after she something she said then to say you are stretching things would be an understatement.

You are better than that Wiz.

More importantly - and not suggesting you are not taking things seriously - I hope you and all your loved ones are safe and well.

God Bless

To be fair, Labour always seem to take the blame for things happening from other things they allegedly did over a decade ago. Smiles.

Thanks Wiz and apologies if any of my responses were OTT as you made your points fairly whether or not I agreed with them.

Like others I never realised until now that it would appear that most people are nothing more that standing, tailless rats.

Not been anywhere near a big supermarket since this started

Used Tesco Express, Booths and small Coop

Got everything inc bog roll without a drama
