Yep, works out for everyone really. I imagine we've recouped our small investment so no loss there and he gets a chance to carve a career in the lower leagues after coming from Warrington.
 
We’ve given a talented trier a chance as a pro and he’s now a bona fide pro. Makes you feel good!
 
According to this Oldham paper "...the midfielder was pursued by a number of League Two clubs following his season at Boundary Park, with Port Vale winning the race for his signature."

So there might not have been a bidding war, but presumably we were able to get a bit more than a nominal fee.
