Just noticed Ben still hasn’t got a club. Whilst I didn’t want him back as he wouldn’t fit how NC is trying to play, I am surprised he hasn’t got fixed up. Alongside a mobile CB, eg Tilt he still has a lot to offer.

I agree, but I guess we don’t know why he hasn’t got a club. I’m inclined to wonder if he made a mistake or was badly advised to hold out earlier in pre season hoping for a championship move, then when that’s not happened, there is now a wage cap which might be a reality check as clubs have limited funds left to offer.Just noticed Ben still hasn’t got a club. I like heneghan and would have had him back. Saying that I think Marv is steadily improving and I've always been a big husband fan.Just noticed Ben still hasn’t got a club. My thoughts exactly. He is only 27 and as I said not for us, but could do a job still. A couple of seasons ago alongside Tilt he played well, just a bit slow. He's a free agent so could still get fixed up.
Not sure why he hasn't got a club already and he needs to or he'll soon be forgotten.
He is. I saw him last week at the gym in Warrington - he’s working on his upper bodyFrom his Instagram, he's been hitting the gym a lot and so clearly keeping himself in good shape although I think that boat has well and truly sailed.
Neglecting his legs, you reckon? He is. I saw him last week at the gym in Warrington - he’s working on his upper body
There will come a time when he realises, the same as a lot more lower league footballers will, that approx £500 a week is a hell of a lot better than nothing.Didn't someone say he was on a Premier League wage last season because Sheff Utd had been promoted the season before? So his salary expectations may have been higher than what most League One clubs can currently afford.
If we were going to sign him surely it would have been in the summer so we wouldn't have been forced into playing Nottingham
I'm not fussed either way would have been ok, but i never got the love in with him
Loads of mistakes in him and dodgy on the ball
Will end up in league 2
I think Phil is spot on if he will accept league 2 wages...I see him at Tranmere, Bolton or Carlisle or somewhere like that. For me he wouldnt have fitted our system with his lack of pace and poor distribution. He is a decent pro and there should still be a career for him at League 2 levelIf we were going to sign him surely it would have been in the summer so we wouldn't have been forced into playing Nottingham

Good point. I haven’t seen him squat or do lunges at allNeglecting his legs, you reckon?

There's not many footballers who don't think they are better than they actually are. I rated Heneghan and even now would still have him back but yes you're right that decision has come back to bite him. There again as i've said before it wouldn't surprise me if the team that finishes this season perhaps only contains Maxwell from the old regime. So in that respect even if Heneghan had signed in January would he have been playing? So, he was offered a permanent contract in January but turned it down as he wanted Championship football. Now he has no club, why do footballers think they're better than they are? He struggled for us in league 1 at some points last season, he's not ready for the Championship. That decision has come back and bit him on the backside big time.
Think he would have been playing over Nottingham early on and then it would have been his position to lose. However as the team has developed, I would have Ballard and Ekpiteta over him right now. He was always better in a back 4 than a 3 though so who knows. I am still surprised he hasn't got a club yet though, he would walk into a team like Swindon or Burton defence. There's not many footballers who don't think they are better than they actually are. See minutes of the meeting with the club. Turned down a contract with us.From his Instagram, he's been hitting the gym a lot and so clearly keeping himself in good shape although I think that boat has well and truly sailed.
Correct not the lads fault no one could predict what the last 11 months have been like and the changes. In January we didn't have a Covid thing or a smart cap or a squad size limit. I'm sure he felt quite relaxed about the future. Events since have bitten him on the bum, really.
