Anyone read yesterdays sunday people,Denis and a few pals looking to buy a efl league one club.Could our kit colour sway him to buy,if the club is for sale.If the owner got ambition like he says he has,we need to spend in January,try and get Rhodes permanently,a good centre half,maybe a player in the Charlie Adam mould,that can get the supporters off their backsides.

Yeh, because he's going to buy a club because of the colour of the shirts🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
 
A good centre half. We’ve got 6 already 3 of whom are the best in the division. Who do you think we are Barcelona? We’ve got on paper the strongest squad in the division and personally think the aim should be automatic
 
Ambition = Spend Spend Spend?
We'd all love Rhodes perm in January, but not going to pay over the odds for him. That balls not in our court.

Imagine SS can afford quite a bit I imagine, but won't pay silly amounts. Neither should he. Hudders have to be realistic too.

Wages will be a sticking point. Can be more flexible on fee if he takes a bit of a cut.

Think Hudders paid 700k or so for him in 2021 was it? Estimated value is apparently 300ish.. but with 6 months left....

Interesting.

It depends on how SS thinks the season will pan out. Is it worth paying a six figure fee if he felt JR could score the goals that could give promotion? Potentially the investment could pay out many many more times more than it's cost.

£7+m was lost because of relegation, so promotion would reap a lot more that the 7m given the increased Cship money.

His money, his choice I suppose.

6 figure sums are fine and expected, but there's still an element of risk management.
With Jordan, injury record doesn't seem a problem, although he himself will admit age will creep up before he knows it.
We'd be paying for him to carry on banging in goals for the rest of the season, and the crucial experience he can pass on to the likes of Joseph and Kouassi, so its judging what that's worth.
Reportedly on about 10k a week + lets say 350k fee (plus signing on fee), on what 2 years +1 maybe. Still of least an overall investment of 1.5 million if we kept him on that salary.

For the record, as a fan I think it's worth it. Then again, I'd probably get sacked on FM for overpaying by digital SS

It's tricky and God knows how you can rationalise these things.

You cant rationalise .

Its gambling. Flip of a coin stuff. No guarantees . Its why the price has to be right.

I mean, you could also see it as a goal scoring striking coach, 2 for 1 deal.

Its why I hope we have better heads at the top making decisions now. For the right money he's someone who could pay dividends in more ways than one.
