Most teams are to be fair.We are rare on comebacks.
Was that in the Colin Methven era? I've a vague recollection of the same, and possibly of Scully scoring a header??I think, but it's s very long time ago, we were once 3-0 down at home to Walsall at half time.
I remember thinking at the time, of we score every ten minutes, we will win. I suppose when you're going everything seems possible.
We came back and won 4-3 with a very late winner.
I was on the Kop that afternoon, but we don’t count that game.Best comeback at Bloomfield Road that I witnessed from the Kop was in 1970. Blackpool were 3-0 up at half-time and coasting against Chelsea. Then Hollins, Osgood and Hudson took over and Chelsea left us all shell-shocked as Chelsea won 4-3. Seven goals all scored at the Kop end. Talk about a game of two halves.
We had to do that twice I recall - no come back the first timeWe had to apply for re-election to the 4th Division in 1983! That’s some comeback .
We should never have been 2 down last night. We got nothing less than what we deserved for a dominant performance throughout the game spoiled by gifting two goals. As was said, as soon as Dale scored, there was only going to be one result. Most teams are to be fair.
Wrexham away was great because we had been utterly abject for about 70 mins before the comeback started. It really was daylight robbery...
The 'comeback' versus Tranmere was very good. Not least for the John Aldridge moment.
What was great last night was the feeling that as soon as Dale got our first goal, you just knew what was coming next.
i was in the scratchin sheds kop end too same as the arsenil game and wrexham away. remember at wrexham loads of the fans had left at half time remember a lot trying to get back in after we had scored the second they were in the pub in or near the car park.I was on the Kop that afternoon, but we don’t count that game.
Never will be toppedThe 1953 FA Cup Final.
Elton Welsby practically sobbing on Granada.Has to be Tranmere Rovers second leg of the League Cup, weren’t we 3-0 down after the first leg then we won the second leg 4-0! Classic!
It was; I can't remember who scored mind. Was that in the Colin Methven era? I've a vague recollection of the same, and possibly of Scully scoring a header??
wasnt that the game where mcilharghy got a broken bone in his neck after a chris malkin chellenge and david eyres went in goal then scored 2 goals in the return leg think one was direct from a corner???Has to be Tranmere Rovers second leg of the League Cup, weren’t we 3-0 down after the first leg then we won the second leg 4-0! Classic!
Yep that’s the one for me still remember it well. Was on a high for weeks1970-Arsenal home in cup.
2-0 down halftime.
Won 3-2 and what an atmosphere.
First leg was my 21st birthday and my Liverpool supporting brother treated me whilst he went to watch Liverpool play the same night! Eyres ended up in nets i think?!Has to be Tranmere Rovers second leg of the League Cup, weren’t we 3-0 down after the first leg then we won the second leg 4-0! Classic!
me too remember the moon at half time being a blood moon looked tangerine. I was only abot 11 at the time and remember saying to my dad and grandad that we would win because the moon had turned tangerineYep that’s the one for me still remember it well. Was on a high for weeks

Didn't Keith Weller come on and transform the game?
I remembered Pickering scoring, but here's the confirmation. https://www.stamford-bridge.com/match.php?mid=3001&opp=BlackpoolWeller did score 2 of the goals but I recall being impressed by Hollins in particular and the presence of Osgood and the threat posed by Hudson. Cannot remember who scored for Blackpool
Wow I forgot how late the goals were by Chelsea. Only 20mins left when the first goal was scored. It seemed once the second went in we were going to lose. That was a long 20 minutes.I remembered Pickering scoring, but here's the confirmation. https://www.stamford-bridge.com/match.php?mid=3001&opp=Blackpool
This game still haunts me.Gillingham ( h ) 87/88, Pool 3-0 up and coasting, cue 3 Gills goals in last ten minutes.
Got to be Wrexham away. Night match (not too far to travel for me) and 3-0 down with about 30 mins to go. Tony Ellis was on fire and then a Mark Bonner free kick to round it off. superb! Most teams are to be fair.
