Big Mick can save us

What's a realistic points tally to stay up with by the skin of our teeth, 45?

That would mean 19 points from our last 19 games. Let's say 5 wins, 4 draws, and 10 losses.

Maybe I'm being stupid and my maths is wrong but I don't calculate it as play off form.
45 points is never enough. Always need more than a point a game to stay up.

Ask his last 2 clubs fans (Cardiff and Ipswich) what they thought of him.

They mirror our thoughts about Appleton.

Couldn't wait to get rid of him soon enough.

Not for me.
Ask them how they did in his first season when sorting somebody else’s mess out? Long term I can see Mick ball leaving fans wanting more, but giving a side devoid of any tactical nous a back bone and organisation MM is the man.

It has been done with less a few times, we need the top teams to carry on winning leaves less points further down to share around.

Question:
How the feck did the Board go from Critchley to MA & MM?
That is a very good question but assuming it is Mick the Miller then we need to get behind the team and hope he can keep us up and then hope the board dont reward him with a 4 year contract. It may just work in the short term and gives us a chance that we simply did not have under Appleton..if he had stayed we 100% would have gone down...now I think we may just get out of the mess that dreadful appointment put us in.

Maybe they think two negatives make a positive. 😜

Not for me. We don’t have the players for a MM team and we shouldn’t be bringing players in during this transfer window to fit with his style of old fashioned football.

What am I missing here? Mick's known for direct, conservative football and bypassing the midfield in favour of getting off as many shots as possible and winning set pieces in the right areas.

Basically exactly the same as Appleton, except he actually wins games.
McCarthy has been out of management for 15 months, his last stint in the Championship ended abruptly after 8 consecutive defeats in a row, are we actually going to appoint a Manager with a recent track record in the Championship which is even worse than Appleton’s record at Blackpool?

If McCarthy starts off well, how about a rendition of a version of “ When I’m 64 “ at the Rotherham home game on 11th Feb to celebrate Mick‘s 64th birthday on 7th Feb.
