Just watched the hi lights Ukraine v Italy and in extra time Ukraine did not get an obvious penalty which if they had scored would have put them through and Italy out. We know how these things go ie 2-0 up at home to Man U stonewall pen turned down🤷🏽‍♂️ the bigger teams get the decisions

So, Macedonia are a bigger club than England?

I’d say Var has definitely assisted with the balance in the Prem, albeit they do get some howling decisions wrong still.

The pressure on refs at Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge and Anfield before the oil money came in meant that refs inevitably gave the marginal decisions to the home team. If Var had existed in 2010 we’d have stayed up (although at least it led to eventual removal of the stench).

I hope they find a balance. It has stopped the top teams getting the lions share of decisions, but it’s still a badly run system.

You only have to go back to how many more points we should have got when we were in the Premier League to realise how true that statement is!
