Biggest achievement

Nothing much…always try to be straight with people …that’s about it

well done to you btw as I remember a worrying night on here very clearly 👍….though you were once very insulting towards me despite me never having been in any way nasty towards you…..but I ain’t bothered…we are all less than our best sometimes

Thanks blood, if I was insulting towards you, and I actually remember it being about me defending some lad on a bus over napm, that then got out of hand, I apologise.
I would still defend that lad on a bus, but I didn’t need to get personal and insulting.
I remember you being supportive of me, they were heavy, hard and worrying times , I thought I might die in all honesty, so thank you 👍
Being straight with folk is generally a great thing 👍

"Becoming a very contented person" should definitely be ranked as a major achievement, Lala.

`Getting happy` is far more difficult than earning money or being `successful` in a career; true contentment is very elusive.

How many people are genuinely happy in their own skin? You certainly appear to be.

Overcoming your setbacks to bring up two fine daughters, find a peace of mind, and be a good person and mum, ranks above any career success or sporting achievement.

For me, finding my soul partner and having an incredibly close relationship with my son, who is also my best pal, far outweighs everything else, although I have been very fortunate in other areas of my life generally which does make things easier...

Thank you so much Spud ❤️

Successful and enjoyable career and comfortable lifetime, but my biggest achievement is-

Living this long.

4 more years than my dad, and 6 more than my mum, and still in better health than they were.

Forever appreciative of the contributions they and their generation made so that we all have a better life.

It wasn't about a lad on a bus……don’t even remember that 😁

anyway it’s no bother at all 👍

Plenty of people insulted you on here Blood...good job you are big enough (and ugly enough) to not let it get to you...that said you probably brought some of it on yourself by announcing you are a Man U fan( in name only)

Recognising that doing what I considered my career had become toxic, and making a total change. Recognising 10 happy, challenging and satisfying years later that what we were doing had run its course, and moving to the Highlands.

Personally, having two well balanced sons, both of whom are thriving in their chosen careers, with grandchildren here and on the way.

Not getting caught 😇
There was a army lad who was a stretcher bearer and in the middle of a battle he is said to have suffered confusion and he went missing for 6 weeks.
He went to my school but was a year ahead of me.

Ch4 did a film on his story, however I was working my way back to Lancaster and unbeknown to me he was on the same train.
When we pulled in to the station he was greeted by a media scrum.
I went home and got lashed at a street party that was held on my behalf.

I have done quite a bit in my career and personal life, but the most important achievements for me, are marrying my wife (39 years up this year) and having 4 wonderful kids with her. The importance of that family was reinforced for me when going through the trauma of and recovery from leukaemia most of last year and enjoying seeing 2 of them getting married this year.
