Blackpool FC Traitors and Faithfuls

Critchley?
Brett?
Tommo?
Evatt?
Sam Ellis?
Charlie Adam?
Charlie Adams ?
Paul Stewart ?
Tricky Trev?

Faithful not mentioned

Billy Ayre
Andy Garner
Dave Bamber
Phil Clarkson
Peter Clarke

Traitors not mentioned

Sam Allardyce

Faithfulls must be Jimmy Hampson, Jimmy Armfield, Joe Smith, Stan Mortensen, simply due to how long they stayed with BFC.

Can't single a player out as a traitor, but I thought about the several players who immediately left the club after the 1978 relegation

Faithful...
Super Brett
King Billy
Keith Southern
Eamon O'Keefe
John Hills
Traitors....
Gary Megson
Mike Conroy
Rhys Evans ( I don't like Blackpool fans and they don't like me)
Sam Allardyce, just for Bolton connection

If that’s your logic, presumably Evo and Jimmy Armfield go on your traitor list?

Faithful - and hear me out...
I'd argue Steve McMahon. Stuck it out despite the horrors of the previous administration.
Tried to quit, but couldn't...

Traitor ; That forward who scored quite a few goals for us, then said he needed to be released from his contract, to go back down south to be near his sick father, but instead went for a lucrative deal to Sheff Weds.

Wasnt it Scott Taylor?

Clarke, no thanks, fucked off to the bright lights of the mighty Sarfend citing Championship football, we then swapped places with them the season after :) He was also hugely over rated and couldn't mark a player.

Bit harsh on Fat Sam, I can't stand the bloke and his shitty Pro zone football, but he was sacked.

I'd add Tricky Trev to the faithful, gave us four years, went for a record fee (for us) and refused to celebrate scoring for Cardiff against us even though he'd left 15 years before. His kids are signed up with us as well.

Harsh on Wood, Walsh and Hart. All 3 went on to play at the highest level and were sold for in excess of £1m. Can't remember where Bob Hatton went.

But I'd say most, probably all tbh of that team were far better than the league below.

Fair enough FCB, I just felt that group of players under-performed in the 2nd half of that season, and when several players immediately left, a 16 year old me felt (rightly or wrongly) as if they were abandoning a sinking ship. I think Walsh was already on his way to Everton though

Hatton went to Luton then Sheff Utd btw.

You're right, they were all better players, but we still went down (wasn't all down to the ** Cartmell)

Can never understand the stick Eyres gets on here. All he wanted was an improved contract and Oyston knocked him back. I had a chat with him in hospitality and he never wanted to leave the pool. He also said he knew the fans hated him when he left. He was a great servant for pool.
