By coincidence & no quite the same high profile careers....John Hills, Jamie Milligan & Gavin McCann, all Blackpool born & started youth careers at Everton.John Hurst was an exeptional talent ,our school, Bailey played his school in a cup final and got hammered 8-1 ,John score six from memory ,he played 400 games for Everton but there was an outcry that he never got picked for England.
I think Everton ,took three lads from Blackpool, Hurst,Kenyon and Eric Curwen .
Also know his step-dad, played Sunday league with him a few years back in fact. Apparently George was very highly thought of at Morecambe and pretty much won man of the match every game.George’s step dad is a Lytham lad and works in Blackpool as an IFA.
Had a decent season on loan last year at Morecambe by all accounts.
George was offered a contract by Wigan
Remember John before the days of squad numbers always wore the number 10 shirt even when playing centre back. Eric Curwen also went to Everton. He played at Blackpool Rangers in the seventies and taught at Montgomery for many years.John Hurst was an exeptional talent ,our school, Bailey played his school in a cup final and got hammered 8-1 ,John score six from memory ,he played 400 games for Everton but there was an outcry that he never got picked for England.

Swift played for Fleetwood before joining Man City so perhaps he didn't want to play for local rivals?Frank Swift. Supported the club allegedly
Everyone knew George Berry was going to Wolves even when we were at Junior School !George Berry and Michael Robinson, neither of them picked up by us, despite being outstanding talents in local junior football.
