Blackpool playing in Europe

I said at the start of last season that I believe that Blackpool will play in a UEFA sanction competition with 15 seasons.

One season has gone by and I think we’re on the right track. The main reason being that a new owner has come in that had more money than the previous one.

Blackpool as a club is very marketable and unique and can be sold to the masses for the following reasons:
  • Tangerine is very unique colour hardly any teams play in it and Blackpool are the biggest club to play in it.
  • Blackpool as a town is one of the most uniquest in England, it has huge attraction i.e The Blackpool Tower, The Pleasure Beach, The Illuminations, The Sandcastle to name a few. It’s known as the Las Vegas of England for a reason.
  • Blackpool as a football club has a rich history:
- We have won the FA cup in 1953 known as the ‘Matthews final’ for Stanley Matthews performance in the match.
- It is the only final at Wembley where a player has scored a hat trick, that player being Stanley Mortensen. It is often considered to be the greatest FA cup final of all time.
- The FA Cup final showed the world that Stanley Matthews was the best player in Europe and possibly the world and so in 1956 he was awarded the Ballon d’Or, to this day only 3 English clubs have had players who have won the Ballon d’Or, Liverpool, Manchester United and Blackpool.
- On top of this prestigious honour Blackpool have won the EFL Playoffs 5 times and are the first club to win all three divisional playoffs respectively.
- We have also won a Football League War Cup and two EFL Trophies.

More money than the previous one? (The Oystons .... the ones you had no problems with, as you've previously stated).

Just to put you right..... Sadler is prepared to INVEST more money into this business and back his manager. Whether he has more money or not than your beloved Oystons, I don't know but you state so. It's irrelevant though and I'm glad we have someone willing to invest in the club and I would love to see his efforts rewarded financially and also on the pitch.

I really don’t care who’s in charge of our club as long as we’re winning stuff, and the person who’s got more money is going to win more stuff

We’d need a bigger stadium. 17,000 wouldn’t sustain premiership football. Dunno if they’re or scope to fill in the north east corner and build a proper east to up capacity to 20,000 which I think we’d need bare minimum

Totally agree with you, we need to build the stadium up to prem standards

I've always loved the thought of us in Europe, thousands of Blackpool fans in sunny beer gardens. If I remember rightly we got done out of the fairplay leaderboard to Fulham in our Prem season which would have given us a Europa League play-off spot, I remember they knocked points off us for something ridiculous because they must have preferred to have Fulham in it.

Hopefully Sadler will sort us out a preseason tournament somewhere nice to satisfy our dreams somewhat
