Blackpool v Blackburn Official Matchday Thread 02.10.21

Put it on my super6 as 3-2 so that's what I'm. Going for.

Reading rovers board they seem to have defensive woes... come on bowler this is your game

2-2.

Hopefully get a reaction after Hull, but Rovers look a tidy side with a striker in top form. Cardiff seem to have lost the plot though, not sure what that 5-1 result last Saturday tells us? Rovers drew 0-0 at Barnsley the week before that, and lost 3-2 at Huddersfield on Tuesday.

If as seems likely Lenihan is absent for Rovers it's a major blow for them.Their record without him is markedly poorer.Think the Van Dijk Liverpool effect.

They also have one or two other doubts and the stage is set for Pool to pick them off.

2-1 Pool.

Major reaction after Hull game. Critch won’t be angry tomorrow. Comfortable win. 1-0

Tough one to call this, I'd love to see us start well and try and blow them away early on but I think it's going to be a tough test to be honest. I'll be more than happy with a scrappy 1-0 win, anything else would be a massive bonus

I'm content with the season so far but lack of goals is a problem. One thing that the coaches need to work on is when to pass and when to shoot. I have seen many examples of having a pop at goal when a square ball to another better placed attacker could have meant just rolling it into the net. Decision making needs looking at.

Still hard to gauge who is where at this point in the season. Hopefully we pull off a 19/20 defensive masterclass on Brereton and nullify 'em. No reason we can't get the 3 points today. They're bringing 3k and they'll definitely be louder than Barnsley so will make for a cracking atmosphere.

COME. ON. YOU. MIGHTY. TANGERINE. WIZARDS.

We're being backed fairly steadily and consistently on Betfair from a high of 3.15 down to 2.6, which is quite a lot pre-match. Maybe "they" know something more than we do about the players Blackburn have available?

Any point trying to predict a team today? Obviously not. But who would you like to see in the side? I would like to see Dujon given the job of collaring Brereton. Be nice to see Stewart back but Kenny and Wintle are doing well. I'd kind of like to see Jerry back, but not at the expense of Lavery. Not sure who will partner Lavery today, or who will start out of Bowler and Mitchell. I think those are the three decisions? Right back, right wing and support striker for Shayne.

That’s quite a shift and you may be right re the Blackburn team news. Wish I had been on that at 3.15 would have locked in some nice profit.

Still remember the 5 to 2 win at home against Rovers, which bizzarely led to Allan Brown being sacked and our slide down the league pyramid.
That was crazy and if I remember we went down on goal difference and matches played at the end of the season between Southern team went exactly the way to send us down!!

Think Madine might start today, high balls could cause chaos in this wind and he’ll cause havoc.
You could be right there, I think this is a game for Madine. He should start with Lavery. Depending on how the game is going, Jerry on at 60 mins.

Edit to add: no clue how this one is going to go. Blackburn do have quality. Hopefully we can master the dark arts better than they can and the Fylde coast wind will help us out. Nervous! COTP

At least we’ve got strength in depth. Critch knows that come winter, injuries are bound to come.
