Blackpool v Burton Official Matchnight Thread 10.01.24

It wasn't;speculation though was it? It wasn't even controversial. so not sure why you are so aggressive in your reaction to the posts and to some other posters. I don't think your anger management course worked, waste of money.
yes it was speculation. Just because it's said or printed, does that make it right? Please don't tell me you buy the Daily Mail.

Because he’s clueless

I am pretty sure the stats will back up what I am saying. Like I said, I always felt we carried more of a threat even though they had most of the general play.

It wasn't a great performance but who cares. It's a cup competition where winning is the only thing that matters.

You’re welcome. You can’t help being negative can you!!
Negative?
Our defence were all over the place tonight for long periods of the game and I’m afraid Thompson had a shocker but hey if you can’t see it that way then fair enough I won’t say you talk bollocks by the way I’m a grown man.
I’ll end on a positive note though just to please you a good result for a side that made so many changes and Seeing Kenny and Lavery back.

Thought Moore looked very useful when he came on think he would benefit from a loan higher up than Chorley.
He was certainly getting into good positions. Great cut back for one of the crosses. The easy option would have been to hit and hope. Definitely looks like he could do a job higher than Chorley.

Mate i'm the least angriest person there is. Totally relaxed and enjoying life. Got a few quid, no pressures, great wife, great kids, life couldn't be better to be honest.

Back to football - if you want to see what Apter is 'made of', does that mean Critchley compromises what he thinks is his best starting XI and bench, just to satisfy you, or would you accept that the reason he was farmed out to a lower-level League 2 side is because he's not ready, and may never be ready, to step up to the grade of playing for Blackpool. If you want to see what he's made of, get yourself on YouTube and search out his goals and performances, but please, don't wail about a player being given a chance when you've not bothered to do your research.
I want Blackpool to go up this season - and at least make the play-offs. What do you want?
So if we're 3-0 up you wouldn't want him brought on? I would. No where have I said start him, but if we are in a position that he could come on and get some mins for us then why not? I've also not said that we have to change the formation, or who we play to fit him in. He's a bright young talent at the club that I hope is capable of stepping upto this level. Of course I want us to go up, but that isn't going to be compromised by bring him on in a game if we are in a comfortable position.
As for the angry comment, all I'm saying is that you come across as very aggressive/combative to a simple comment about hoping that one of our youngsters is good enough.

Thanks for ending on a positive note, it could be catching. I agree Thompson was poor but overall we deserved the win and as you acknowledge, given all the changes against a relatively ‘strong’ Burton side, we did well. I don’t believe the defence was as bad as you make out but there’s always room for improvement.

Take your own advice and please enjoy being a Blackpool supporter.
You seem to hate it.
Cheer the fuck up and get yourself into a positive mindset if you can.
Life is tough, football is a great release valve and gives many of us an opportunity to have a bit of escapism from all the shit we have to deal with on a daily basis, so seeing you constantly besmirch all that we hold dear to us, is nothing but a massive frustration and it provokes a negative response. Therefore, negativity is breeding negativity, which isn't a good thing.
We can all be down and miserable, but we can't all be Barcelona, or Man City. We accept our lot and get on with it. Imagine how i felt when my brother told me he'd found a suspicious lump on one of his testicles. I didn't even realise we were supposed to have two of them in the first place, but still, i soldiered on.
Happy 2024. Make it better. x
Blackpool is a release which is why it's frustrating seeing this crap formation hindering us. My opinion of course. I keep saying no more but got three tickets for Saturday more in hope that Critchley can have the last laugh and we see us competing away from home.

I think the frustration is not being able to relate to what a manager is doing. Even with Appleton and Mick, you still could understand selections and formations. It's just the players weren't good enough. The complete reversal now.

For a team with all those changes we did pretty well.Joseph first half breaking their play up which on one occasion led to the first goal.Just like to see him win more headers if we are going long into him.Watch some prime Gary Taylor Fletcher son on how to win those headers.

Dale did well.Virtue first half very good.Moore was impressive in his return and Oakley Booth also played well.

I’ve heard it all now,as i said clueless!

Elsewhere in Europe there have been a couple of tasty local derbies. In Rome it ended a boring 1-0 but three players were sent off, the first a Lazio player in the 96yh minute, then two Roma players in the 109th and 110th. Meanwhile in Madrid it's 3-3 in added time.
Real scored twice in the last 6 minutes of extra time. Sounds like some game.

💩👎🐍

Dale MOTM Virtue close second Joseph looks strong & supplied a very good pass for Virtue's goal, just needs to score some goals now. Overall I enjoyed the game & whilst with a more recognised back 3 or 4 we would surely be a little harder to score against. Now bring on Bolton at home please.

There are eleven defenders on the pitch. Critchley should be doing a better job.

A few positives tonight. Dale was very bright and should really be a nailed on starter. Thought Virtue was good, particularly first half and O’Donnell did well again. Good to see Jack Moore get on and did himself no harm at all. And finally good to see Kenny back in Tangerine. Thought it was the last we had seen of him.
Still hate the three at the back formation though…

Yes I know a lot of people look at this as a nothing cup, but I am quite happy to be advancing in it and heck at this point might as well try to win the damn thing. A trophy is a trophy.

Didn’t the players admit they didn’t have a clue what mick was asking them to do

Dale will probably be dropped on Saturday.
Of course he will be dropped because of this stupid wing back formation. Critchley would rather Dom Thompson play centre back than change things. A bit like Connolly at left wing back. Who cares who plays as long the formation remains 3-5-2.
