We won this game 3 nil but I'm trying to confirm who the scorers were but don't have Roy Calleys book to hand, anyone able to confirm who scored the goals?

Tony Kellow playing for Exeter winking to the crowd in the South Paddock on a few occasions when they had corners. Good bloke, shame he never made it at Blackpool.

Which was the best attendance of the day in Div4!. We ended the 84/85 season as Div4 best supported club during a horrific season for football in general.
Yes some shocking attendances that season throughout the country. We were one of the best in our division but its amazing that in the Premier League or Division 1 as it was only 5 teams averaged over 20,000.

I blame space invaders and similar for turning the mind of the youth😉😉😉😉in those days👩‍🚀👩‍🚀👩‍🚀👩‍🚀

Mind you it is a lot worse now....these things have now become “sport”...🥶🥶🥶

Any reason why there were such shocking attendances out of interest?

Just about peak hooliganism; English teams got banned from Europe at the end of that season following the Heysel disaster.
We also had the Bradford fire; which wasn't about hooligans but because of safety procedures, gates were locked etc.
Grounds were shit holes too.
And there were far more provincial teams in the top flight at the time too.

There was so much was wrong with football at the time, even though as a young lad of 12/13 year old, it felt great.

For all I hate the sanitised version of football we watch today (which has gone too far the other way) football back then was a bit crap on the pitch and downright nasty off it.

In terms of goals he did, 23 in 57 league appearances. He enjoyed a drink too! Died relatively young at 58.

Great perspective. Agree. I was a 14 year old season ticket holder that year. Never stopped to think how bad the 'match day experience' was. As you say, most grounds were dire and as it turned out, tragically, death traps too. Crowds were probably 90+ % Male. The football probably wasn't great either. Though we did play well against Exeter that day!

Interesting and surprising stat. Who were the worst supported?
I remember quite a few attendances at places like Rochdale,Halifax and Chester where under a thousand werent uncommon. It's not a fact but I would of had Rochdale as the worst supported club in that season. That anxious feeling that you were going to be on the end of a good kicking after a game was a regular one and I was just a kid.

The attendances for the Freight Rover Trophy or whatever it was called then were still better than its modern day Checkatrade Trophy though!.
