Blackpool v Lincoln City Official Matchday Thread 01.01.24

Did Critch just tell Rhodes to say a proper goodbye to the fans?? He said summat

Hope I’m wrong

So from the maestro to the North Stand, it’s now….

1. Hand taps to the BFC badge
2. Love heart gesture
3. Then followed by the 3 fist pumps

I wonder what he’ll add next time? 🤔

A wins a win but by God that was ugly.

I think Rhodes is going based on what happened at the end…coach Critchley sending him over to the fans

Bit of a breather now and a cup game next. Be interesting to see who is staying and who is going, we have to keep hold of Rhodes, hope Marv is going to sign a new contract and that Kenny is out because of personal issues rather than off somewhere new. At least we can strengthen the squad properly then.

Not a horrible performance, but not really great either. So bleh.

A win's a win, but still so unconvincing.

Derby, Stevenage, and Barnsley all dropped points above us which is nice so we're very much still in the hunt for Playoffs, but things have to click sooner or later.

Home to Exeter
Away to Bristol Rovers
Home to Charlton

Need 7 points minimum if we want to even have a chance going into February.

Two poor teams but we looked less poor. Did what we had to do though so every credit.

The first half was so bad but at least we looked half decent in the second half.

Casey, Husband, Morgan, Dale and Rhodes the stand out performers for me.

The Charlton game could be interesting if Appleton is still in charge. The Charlton fans certainly aren't keen on him.

I enjoyed that.

Watched on my phone whilst in Centre Parcs; signal held out!

I thought we will deserved the win after the first 20 minutes.

Delighted for CJ as he's such a confidence player

I don't understand the bi-polar nature of the club, if we can just do something with our away form we will be up there at the end of the season.

Anyone who just watches us at home would be well satisfied.

Happy New Year!

not a great performance, but I have to say the team put in a shift. literally playing against 14 because all the officials seemed actually determined to give it to lincoln.

Virtue did a decent job in a defensive mid role, but couldn't get his typical passing game going (better option than Norburn by some distance), morgan played really well in that role between defensive lynch pin and getting forward. Dembele didnt really get going today, but whenever he got the ball he did something useful, kicked all over the park again - no protection from the officials. CJ and dale had their moments, but we were playing too deep. Rhodes chased and made a nuisance of himself.

seemingly went to 4-4-2 or possibly 4-3-2-1 after the subs, and looked a bit better, had more control.

3 points - job done move on to the next game

I thought CJ played well too. It was a difficult game because they came to not concede, funny thing is when they did they still played like that. We were awful for the first 25 minutes though, it was a pretty horrible game to watch.

2 poor teams today, but we took our chances. Still haven't changed my opinion on Critchley and I hope and pray that wasn't Rhodes says his goodbye. Win is a win though, 6 points off playoff having played 2 more games, but it's not insurmountable. Have to sort out our away from though. It's an absolute must if we are to have any chance at all.

Yeah, good take. Thought we were lucky to get ahead when we did and not concede in first 30 - but thereafter we kind of controlled it without doing very much and for once, the subs made us better and suited the moment.

We're not out of this by any means, but we've given ourselves little margin for error.
