Usual stuff here.
They have a bus and they know how to park it.Having seen Blackpool 's last two results / scores I'd guess that Northampton would turn up defensively minded.
Earlier in the season, we haven't done well against teams that do that.
I'm delighted to say, I'm frequently wrong though.
C'mon Pool, keep improving that goal difference!
When was the last time Northampton beat us at BFC?
They always seem to have a big side and we usually scrape a narrow win.
Remember Yates goal, 3 seasons ago under lockdown.
In April 1966 it was a top flight clash!
Their only season and had to beat us to have a chance of staying up.
We beat them 3-0. Think it was Alan Balls last home game before record transfer to Everton.
omg as long ago as that. its funny how teams have bogy sides. Not that we have met that often. Just know them as the Cobblers. When was the last time Northampton beat us at BFC?

Fearing ‘an after the Lord Mayors show’ and they will stick 11 behind the ball but we need to get on a roll if we are going up as F’in champions.
Bet365 have your lot at 40-1 for the title so after you lot beat Dog Shit City 4-0; I've stuck £10 Ew with a £500 payoutHad a couple of quid on 4 nil at 22/1
Good preview from the Cobblers fan. Forgot they had Marco Gabbiadini playing for them!
Apart from that (brilliant) goal what a scrappy affair it was. And they were the best bits!Worth watching Yates goal again.
I like your confidence but our main issue is consistency. We are good enough for the play offs but have reservations about whether we can put the sort of run together to make top 2, let alone win the league. I hope you're right though!!Bet365 have your lot at 40-1 for the title so after you lot beat Dog Shit City 4-0; I've stuck £10 Ew with a £500 payout
That'll pay for a few trips to Owd Nells, loads of Armenian kebabs & full English brekkies at St Ann's Beach Cafe.
Don't balls it up now !!!!

Pressure is a wonderful thing but we need to be within 6 points when the last 10 games are upon us. We saw with Pompey how a couple of injuries disrupted them, we have to hope Bolton, Oxford and Peterborough all have similar weaknesses with squad depth. That is where I think we are very strong. To think we smashed Pompey with the likes of Lavery, Gabriel, Casey, Norburn and Lyons all out or on the bench is quite frankly absurd.Yes top 2 are 8 and 6 points clear respectively with 2 games in hand. That could easily be 14 points and 12 points clear if they win their 2 in hand. Having to win 4-5 games more than Bolton and Portsmouth in 27 games is a tough ask. If by the middle of January we are still troubling the top 6 then the playoff route is do-able.
Why is it absurd? I doubt any would get selected at the minute, maybe Norburn. Casey and Lyons were on the bench. To think we smashed Pompey with the likes of Lavery, Gabriel, Casey, Norburn and Lyons all out or on the bench is quite frankly absurd.
Because it shows how strong we are as a squad. Compare that to Portsmouth who were without Regan Poole and looked awful at the back. Maybe it's wishful thinking because that is probably our biggest hope of reducing the gap, that other clubs don't have the same level of squad depth and fall away as the season wears on.Why is it absurd? The bet above is each way, place for top 3 finish. We've been inconsistent up to now, like we were 20/21. We'll need to go on a similar run but we now look good enough, and have strength in depth too. So there are good reasons to be optimistic.
Yes of course. Strength in depth is essential.Because it shows how strong we are as a squad. Compare that to Portsmouth who were without Regan Poole and looked awful at the back. You are right about the April 1966 game. It was my first visit to Bloomfield Road and the first ever trip organised by the newly-formed BlackpoolWhen was the last time Northampton beat us at BFC?
