Dale still can’t sleep.
I totally agree very well put, when we play long its because we have no other options, we pass backwards and sideways looking for options and outlets but tonight there wasn't many to find. Would their keeper have taken some much time doing things if they had been getting beat NO, they came with a job to do and nailed it perfectly, sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say good job done from them. They were excellent without the ball and restricted us from playing how we played in our last two games, they gave us no time on the ball. It's not our tactic to knock it around the back and go long, we want to play through the lines using Carey and Dembele and use our wingbacks effectively, they stopped us doing it so they deserve credit in my opinion.
He needs to put the cross in himself, he can create a yard of space so not sure why he doesn't cross it himself moreWhat is the point of a wing back who can't go on the outside of a defender? Dale always stops turns back on to his right foot, thus losing momentum and minimising options.
On the night, from minute 1 until the final whistle we had one tactic….knock it long. It was very obvious that was how we thought was the best way to play against them. They were excellent without the ball and restricted us from playing how we played in our last two games, they gave us no time on the ball. Agree with the crowd comment, the fans get very negative and flat when things aren't going our way.I totally agree very well put, when we play long its because we have no other options, we pass backwards and sideways looking for options and outlets but tonight there wasn't many to find. We don't lack effort and you can see the frustration when things are not going right both on and off the field
One thing i have noticed away from the football is the ground is a lot quieter nowadays and there isn't that atmosphere there anymore that the club is known for and the players will sense that. Only my opinion
Yeah i agree but we have always created our own atmosphere and are known for that, with regards the players we are all different animals it effects players in different ways, some will work harder, some just go into their shells, some hide, and others it wont bother.Agree with the crowd comment, the fans get very negative and flat when things aren't going our way.
Definitely the atmosphere has changed this year, maybe the lack of away fans has something to do with it.
I also think the players really struggle when the crowd starts getting on their backs.
I don't see many of our players handling the groans too well unfortunately, Rhodes and Norburn can probably shrug it off but the rest seem to go in panic mode.
Fans need to stop being so negative but the players need to toughen up and get a bit angry, fuck the groans type attitude.
I completely agree, but last night hasn't wrote off our season. The manner of defeat was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. We should have been on a real high after 2 consecutive 4-0 wins
Orrrrr, to put it another way, our approach to games is now becoming ssssso predictable, opposing teams can read us like the proverbial book and adjust their gameplan accordingly. We are just so lacking in flair and invention, we are becoming almost painful to watch, with opponents simply nullifying us at every turn. They played well simply because we allowed them with our one and only tactic of playing it across the back line and then hitting the long ball forward. So easy for any team to defend against and hit straight back at us.
Whereas poor old Schumacher had to undergo long-term hospitalisation as a result of the career-threatening injuries he sustained. But I see your point, Wiz, whatever the 'impact' on Bees, it was all a bit powder-puff ...it was hardly a Schumacher challenge was it?
Bees was that cleaned out he was sat up complaining!!
I see your point, BFCfan33, but do the team not share some responsibility for the rather lukewarm atmosphere which has been so much in evidence during recent home games, as a result of their absolutely piss-poor displays out on the pitch in recent fixtures at BR? Should 'generating atmosphere' not be a two-way affair?I totally agree very well put, when we play long its because we have no other options, we pass backwards and sideways looking for options and outlets but tonight there wasn't many to find. Yeah fair point, it is up to the team to get get the crowd going to a point and your two way affair point is a good way of putting itI see your point, BFCfan33, but do the team not share some responsibility for the rather lukewarm atmosphere which has been so much in evidence during recent home games, as a result of their absolutely piss-poor displays out on the pitch in recent fixtures at BR? It was Patrick Battison who sustained horror injuriesWhereas poor old Schumacher had to undergo long-term hospitalisation as a result of the career-threatening injuries he sustained. But I see your point, Wiz, whatever the 'impact' on Bees, it was all a bit powder-puff ...
Critchley’s tactics will not allow for any variation in style or approach. It is incredibly rigid in terms of positional play.Orrrrr, to put it another way, our approach to games is now becoming ssssso predictable, opposing teams can read us like the proverbial book and adjust their gameplan accordingly. We are just so lacking in flair and invention, we are becoming almost painful to watch, with opponents simply nullifying us at every turn.
Maybe the team should try 'mixing it up a bit' once in a while ... If they could just get the necessary permission from his 'lordship'.
The evidence 'points', I would argue, to the strategy costing us in all manner of ways; too many to mention in the limited space offered by a miniscule messageboard ... Perhaps if we were to consult with 'one-track' Critchley, he could come up with a telling analysis. Then again - perhaps not! Cracked record 'n all that - innit.Backpass FC strikes again. You know players are devoid of ideas when they actively turn with the ball and look to play it backwards. Lost count how many points this strategy has cost us this season?
Merci, monsieur. And, Wiz, just as an aside, were you aware that Battison actually acted as bestman at Schumacer's wedding held some time after rather disturbing event? Strange - but true.It was Patrick Battison who sustained horror injuries
For, 'The Tuesday night curse strikes again', read, 'The Tuesday night trigger for footballing incompetence is pulled again'...The Tuesday night curse strikes again, talk about deflating, in one way entirely predictable but we were so good against Portsmouth that I felt like we could overcome. Feel sick.
