Blackpool v Shrewsbury Official Matchday Thread 18.11.23

Performance of the season so far this I reckon, very dominant.

These sort of performances are what we need to see more often. If we saw the system utilised like this more consistently, no one would have any complaints (I'm sure some would)

GOAL: Blackpool 2-0 Shrewsbury

Jake Beesley (33 mins)
A second goal as Blackpool take a firm grip on proceedings.
CJ Hamilton gets away down the right and gets to the byline where he picks out Jake Beesley.
The striker should finish with the goal gaping, but hits goalkeeper Marko Marosi, but the ball rebounds back on to the sliding striker and ends up in the net.
That's not how it would be recommended at striker school, but all that counts is that the ball is in the net

The sobering thought is that even though we're playing well, we'll still be 8 points off 2nd spot if we win, having played 2 games more😕

Lovely mix of good possession based football with intent and direct balls up to the front two. Impressed with that.

Love how quickly Dembele gets to his feet after being taken down. Now get him off the park, wrap him up in cotton wool for next week and get Connolly on to see it out professionally. Job done.

Sat in C Block.

Atmosphere is as flat as I've known it.

2-0 could be more.

We need to press on in the second half; which is the triumph of hope over experience.
