Blackpool vs Man Utd on Tuesday with free admission.

It'll be interesting to see how many turn up to this game.

Not sure what the man u side will look like, but an appealing tie.

Wonder if he might throw in some players who might want a final throw of the dice - what are the rules about Dev squads?

It's a friendly, that's all. I would imagine the Manager's will try and match the squads to make it competitive.
I'm pretty sure Dom Thompson has already left for his holidays.

Sounds like a decent game for the young Seasiders . Haven't been walloped after a good season.
Looking forward to a bench of our own next season ...or at least one or two making the step up .
Will look forward to reading a report on the game from those lucky enough to pop in and watch it

Both my son's went and have obviously been hanging around outside the west stand as the eldest has just sent a photo of him and Dobbie.

Hopefully he asked him the all important question.

Good game but the difference in class from United scooping up the cream of the crop was clear to see
Keeper again had, a good game and should have done enough to earn a, contract and be considered as 3rd keeper.
Donkor our no2 played well. out of those, with no first team experience, and Apter was their equal.
It will be interesting to see if any of United players, ever make the first team even for a cameo role, but there were a few we will probably keep tabs on in case they are released. Ironically it is probably down to the fact that there is, a good chance of progression to the first team that gives us, an edge over bigger teams

If I were a betting man I'd put money on Kwaku Donkor (2) and Harvey Bardsley (GK) getting pro-deals.

How were the trialists, full report please.
I didn't see anything from either that would have me rushing out to sign them.
They played as left and right wingers.
They were clearly being looked at as Development Squad players and that's one position we have plenty of options.
Hopefully BFC will be announcing its retained list shortly which will include the current Development Squad. I keep meaning to research the contract position on our 1st/2nd year pro's because we could of course be losing some.
I have a good idea which of the current u18s will be getting contracts which will keep the Development Squad a healthy size.
At Academy level we need to be looking to bring in 17 yr olds (only 2 are coming up from this year's u16s) otherwise there will be a big gap at the end of next season.

Yes, one of them is A. Trialist. He kept cropping up for us every season about 11 years ago 😉
Well with a name like that (and what an extraordinary coincidence, given his choice of career!) I guess there was a certain inevitability to him being involved on the fringes of the professional curcuit for such a length of time. You've got to admire his determination to succeed, but I wonder whether he's been under the misapprehension that his peculiar name might just have swung it for him after been involved for so long . I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles...

He's 47 now...
