From memory during our premier league year the only fans that didn’t sing that were Liverpool - I liked that - almost as much that great win - just saying 👍

Its still a shithole whatever way you try and dress it up. That's why it's sang.

We have good areas. Tourists don't see that. Town is a mess
 
I do sort of get the comment from ,people from Oldham ,Rochdale ,etc ,after all most of their families came from Bangladesh,Pakistan ,Afghanistan (so they must preach to their kids that where they live ,is paradise )🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
 
Football chants are football chants and can't say I get too offended by it, its a bit like when we chant "your support is ** shit" to every single team without fail - even if they've brought 2k down on a Tuesday night.

It really does boggle the mind when people say it to you in conversation, then they tell you they're from a place like Stoke, Burnley or Rochdale. We are all aware of Blackpool's shortcomings, but outside of cities you really can't beat it, its why they all use their free weekends and holiday days at work to leave their shithole and bring their kids to our shithole, because our shithole actually has something to do (lots to do in fact) - the difference is they then have to return to their soulless, grey towns.

With all Blackpool has to offer I couldn't imagine a better place to have grown up. Stanley Park, the beach, The Sandcastle, The Pleasurebeach, the tower, the prom, the piers - then as you get older you have the nightlife. Honestly you go to some towns and you think "what do people do round here?", they literally have nothing in comparison.

Blackpool is, and always was, a different kind of town to any other in the country.
I am proud to be born in Blackpool.
I remember going to Germany in the Army in January 1954, many of my squad mates loved Blackpool, wherever they came from.
Of course joining the Army as FA Cup winners following the so called 'Matthews Final' helped as most were in awe of Sir Stan.

OK, Blackpool has changed, part of the reason was the high number of young people who came when the Government, Tory,
stopped a certain benefit for those at home with their parents. Many left home and went where there was plenty accommodation.
This is not a Political statement, it's what happened.
Stands by for Tory attack. 😾

I was meant to be born in Blackpool (would have loved being a sand grown un ),but unfortionaly it was Wolverhampton☹️(but in my heart )😁👍.
 
Sadly parts of Blackpool remain a shit hole but in terms of where we were to where we are, surely one of the most progressive towns in the UK?

I suppose none shit hole based clubs would be Norwich, Cheltenham, Harrogate, Shrewsbury, Exeter, Cambridge there may be others but every major town in England probably has quite a large area dedicated to shit hole status.

actually cheltenham is awful i was suprised when visiting how run down and rough the town centre was it was worse for nomarks and beggars than blackpool

Well they can't sing it either then!! Must've gone downhill, not been for about 10 years.
