I HAD never heard of this young player. But a item came up on my news feed. his scholarship here had ended . but he has been recruited by Sunderland for one of their under 21 teams. there was a recent discussion thread about our young players making it through to the first team squad. So it would appear very difficult unless you are exceptional . I wish this player all the best for the future. to be told that you will not be retained must be very tough .. Sunderland is a good club so all the best young man.

Bobby had a really strong 2nd half to last season. In some ways he is like Callum Connolly, comfortable at RB and CB and also more than capable of playing as a defensive mid-fielder.
I also wish him all the best.

LETS hope all our ex scholars find other clubs. it is a brutal system but as you are as good as your coaches say you are. Accrington Stanley seem to find a lot of players that were not deemed good enough. or is that just my imagination.
