Boris in Kyiv

It’s not an argument though is it

‘argument - a reason or set of reasons given in support of an idea, action or theory’

in your post

an idea = putting party gate to one side for now

a reason given in support of this idea = the slaughter of people in the Ukraine

people are slaughtered around the world on a daily basis. Let’s keep Boris in power for ever

I didn’t say that you did.

I’m no fan of Boris or the Tory party but thank f@ck he is showing strength in this war situation.

🙄 yes, i did say that. It was just a ridiculous extension of your ridiculous argument

You were just struggling with the meaning of the word ‘argument’

Do you feel a little bit cleverer now

No not at all.

And I’m still not arguing, just making comments regarding a news update on Ukraine and Boris.

What a piss poor show, that when Zelensky needs every available second to defend his country he has to waste time accommodating this immoral, self aggrandising buffoon and his worthless entourage. How about opening the borders for Ukranian refugees rather than pitching for photo ops? Might be more useful.

The cesspools in some respondent’s continued language can coin no fitting words of odium with which to condemn them by their dastardly and diabolical false and fraudulent misrepresentations of this visit. Johnson was in Kyiv on an unanounced visit, holding meetings with the Ukrainian president to set out a new package of financial and military aid. Yes, the press are bound to be all over it as they were when the EU President visited before him.
The visit came a day after Johnson announced a further £100m worth of UK military assistance for Ukrainian forces, including anti-tank and anti-aircraft weaponry. Will this not assist them in defending their country?

What, does he have to be there to deliver this personally? Absolute tripe, he is grandstanding to try to polish up his miserable reputation, as anyone should be able to see. Any comments regarding the visa fiasco?

Johnson has stitched up Sunak now he's giving it the big 'un in Ukraine to distract from his own mishaps. Nice....
And stealing Ben Wallace’s thunder in the process.

You know. The Defence Minister and the one actually behind the supply of military hardware and expertise to Ukraine.

Sneaking quietly up on the inside in the leadership stakes. I think we can expect a few more damaging leaks and rumours in the next few weeks.

I am not, as many on here will not be, qualified or in a position to comment on the 'visa fiasco'.
On the face of it, it looks very slow and painful, but we have rules and they have to be stuck to, whatever the pain, and I'm sure that those who are processing the requests are working at full speed.

During any crisis and the movement of civilians, trying to find a place of safety, there will be those amongst them who are merely trying to enter countries, including ours, in order to sabotage them or spy for a potential enemy. This obviously has to be taken into account when screening immigrants.

Let us not forget that there are many immigrants coming to this country, not just from Ukraine, but also in boats across the channel etc. Should we drop our guard to accommodate one set rather than another? I think not.

That probably sounds very cold and inhumane to you and to others, and I do feel sorry for the waiting displaced. However, I would hate to think that some of the younger Russians, for instance, who are presently fleeing Russia and to whom Putin refers to as his fifth column or indeed any Ukrainians who are sympathetic towards Russia but posing as refugees would be able to enter this country unhindered by a series of necessary checks and then carry out any acts of espionage against our country or its citizens.

I’m not convinced by these scare stories that immigrants may be spies. There’s nothing to stop genuine spies from travelling to, say, the Far East and then entering the U.K. on a normal commercial flight. As far as I’m aware there are no restrictions on Russians generally from entering the U.K. As they did with the Salisbury poisonings.

That’s a much more likely route imo.

So it turns out that Germany and France have been sending arms to Ukraine after all: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-n...many-evaded-arms-embargo-sell-weapons-russia/

One small problem, they've been using them to arm the Russians.

France and Germany armed Russia with €273 million (£230 million) of military hardware now likely being used in Ukraine, an EU analysis shared with The Telegraph has revealed.

They sent equipment, which included bombs, rockets, missiles and guns, to Moscow despite an EU-wide embargo on arms shipments to Russia, introduced in the wake of its 2014 annexation of Crimea.

It's no wonder they don't want to give weapons to Ukraine when they can sell them to Russia instead. Maybe they can trade weapons for Russian gas.

He isn't. He's keeping out of the way of the Partygate flack.
Of course the British PM should support Ukraine. I would expect no less from any other party leader in office. But, 'good old Boris?' Utter bollocks.

I also haven’t said “good old Boris” have I.

“Showing strength in a war situation” is what I said.

NEXT! 🙄

I see that the Ukraine President singled out the PM and the UK again today for special praise in respect of their backing. It's a shame, but predictable, that other EU leaders are conspicuous by their absence/silence. Even mealymouthed critics of Boris should acknowledge the leading role he's playing in this war against the anti-christ.

I like to post in the context of what is said on the thread, not just by one person. I know you didn't refer to 'Good old Boris,' that was Memphis. Don't personalise things so much.

Johnson is a mouth on legs. That's his role. If we as a country also provide weapons and vehicles then that's good and should be praised. However, others are also putting in the hard yards. Macron is being an intermediary - also an important role.

I think many people have been duped by Macron. He's assumed a non-existent role of President of Europe and seems to have taken it upon himself to be the guardian of the west. Even President Zelensky seems cautious when referring to him. He might earn himself another term in office as French leader this weekend but he's only fooling some of the people some of the time.

Typing when the phone's plugged in is a nightmare. I meant intermediary.
