Boris on the brink

Justice minister Victoria Atkins is the latest minister to resign with a strongly worded letter. I’ve lost count now, but I think around 16 have now resigned, senior, middle and junior ministers. I know he’s quoted as saying it’ll take a flame thrower to get him out of number 10, but he might have no option. It could be today.

In any other walk of life, his position would be untenable. We'll see if he's happy to stay and take whoever is left down with him, or do what's best for his party and the country and go.

Well he’s just stated at PMQ he isn't going and he’s hanging on in there! Expect a bloodbath within the Tory Party triggered by the back benchers which has already started!

Has anyone stopped to think that this could make him stronger and more determined ? Just asking like as didn’t he ride the 1 vote allowed for no confidence ?

1922 committee to visit him today with a message, resign or we will replace you before the summer recess.
Voting for a new leader may start as early as Monday.

i want to say that in any other walk of life he wouldnt be anywhere near that position in the first place, let alone his position being untenable now, but in almost every walk of life incompetence and dishonesty are the prime skills needed for high office

Stronger and more determined to do what? He does fuck all. He has no vision for this country bar empty catchphrases. He's in it purely for his own ego. He doesn't actually offer any leadership, and most policies that the government carry forward are being done at a ministerial level. We're effectively leaderless, except for certain ministers who sit atop their own departmental fiefdom's, which is also a concern because all ministers of actual talent have moved on. So we're left with the self interested sychophants who are only there because they care more about thesmelves than the national interest and have little to offer, which is why we've got Dorries as ** culture secretary, and Lizz "Who actually cares about foreign policy" Truss as head of foreign policy.

We're absolutely rudderless at the moment, being led by one of the worst governments in British history, when we're trying to navigate several massive issues. Honestly it's not even funny anymore. If he had any concerns for the national interest he would step down and realise that his (non-existent) leadership just can't cut it. He won't of course, unless absolutely forced to, but he won't win another election in this country. I've already bet my partner that I will take her to the ** Savoy in a country of her choosing if he does.

Everyone knows this, his own party knows this, he's lost it.

The trouble is the failure of his so called policies and sound bites are being masked by the scandals. Get Brexit done - he signed a deal that he had no intention of ever keeping to in his usual lack of integrity way, just so he could claim to have got Brexit done.
Levelling up - show me some examples. Railway improvements in the north being cancelled while money is being thrown at the south
40 new NHS hospitals - that claim is now being investigated. No wonder Javid got out as health secretary.
What has he actually achieved ?
