Absolutely horrendous, I can't imagine what his family are going through right now and people's thoughts should rightly be with them at such a sad time.

However, the time will come where answers will be needed and I'm sure a thorough investigation is being carried out. I can't see how a 10 year old could possibly electrocute themselves of their own accord, its unlikely he's put a fork in a plug socket. It points to a serious breach of health and safety, exposed wiring, faulty socket etc. Incredibly sad.

Very sad. I wondered what was going on when I drove past, there were loads of emergency vehicles attending.
Thoughts are with the family.

Poor lad RIP, and poor family.

Obviously something that shouldn't happen. It will be interesting to see the cause and the failure.

Very tragic and sad but let’s not conjecture about the cause.

The hotels reception area I believe was going thru a refurbishment at the time. This happened on Sunday night 10.30pm. I also believe Tiffany’s hotel have a very good H&S record. Will have to see what the investigation comes back with. I know for a fact hotels etc don’t need to have yearly Pat testing done anymore but they do need a periodic safety certificate which I’m certain they will have. It’s absolutely heartbreaking what’s happened to the little boy and his family and friends must be living a nightmare. R I P little man 💔💔💔💔💔

As I said in my previous post let’s not speculate about the cause but Tiffany’s is definitely one of the best hotels in Blackpool in terms of refurbishment and I would expect everything that is required to be in place.

Fact is there no requirement for PAT testing ever, but all electrical equipment needs to be safe, 100% of the time. PAT testing is the safest and most recognised option of ensuring this.

And again there is no evidence or indication - yet - that the hotel didn’t carry out PAT testing or even that this incident is due to faulty electrical equipment.

I could speculate if there's a refurb going on but I will leave that for the investigation. Bottom line is poor kid & family 😢
