Boyzone @ Chorley FC

After the Hollywood circus at Wrexham it would seem that Irish boy band Boyzone are to bizarley invest in Chorley! Whatever next? Maybe we should be looking for some celebrity endorsement being the Vagas of the North😁

Apparently wasnt Robbie Williams going to buy Port Vale . But that has been dismissed as fanciful . May be he is . or a consortium behind with the cash. Wrexham will hopefully keep their celeb backing because a few seasons down the line and the money isnt there anymore . What then. as for Chorley as long as the proper checks are done then fair play. But any smaller club should be VERY wary of sudden interest. Uncle Simon will do for me.

Might be some truth in that, Robbie Williams is from Stoke and was brought up a Vale fan so makes sense but Ronan Keating and Chorley??
Suppose it would be cheap and as Fleetwood has shown it doesn’t take crazy money to get success to a certain cap (depending on investment). So long as you’re in for the fun and happy to lose the money.
Ryan Reynolds and that other guy at Wrexham is different, they won’t be losing anything. They had the idea for the Netflix doc first, banking on the model being a commercial success they then went looking for a club to fit their agenda and Wrexham made a good story.

Didn't Hemmings fund Chorley for a lot of years, seem to remember him saying there was more chance of Chorley getting to the Prem than PKE

This is either going to be a Red Nose wind up......OR......A TV program, trying to do the same as Wrexham on £17
Or whatever Boyzone can raise from a charity single....

Wish Chorley fc well. But a one season wonder wont get them promoted . Ronan keating will just be a shareholder. No mention of a take over. its more for the benefit of blarney boys boyzone. Andy Preece is a good guy and has done well keeping them near the top of National North. they will be the face of Chorley fc . Wouldnt touch this with a bargepole. But the deal has been done.. hope its NOT a one season wonder. A shareholding means nothing., No real money . just a pile of blarney.

Chorley fc were hit by a winding up petition from hmrc two days ago. apparently has or is being dealt with according to Andy Preece. coincindence or not. ermmm.

Chorley chairman just been on BBC Breakfast. Their new owner is friends with Shane Lynch from the (middle aged man band) who attended a couple games and loved it. The others now want to get involved. The chairman wasn't sure about what level they will be involved but I guess it's all good publicity for them.

Who knows but it sounds more like a bit of publicity rather than anything concrete.
Can they not get Lyndsay Hoyle involved in his home town club and then he can give his speakers job up? Then we might see the PM actually having to answer a question now and then...
