Brad Holmes

Even if you’re don’t rate Critchley as head coach, you cannot question his understanding of when youth is ready.
He was adamant Trent Arnold was ready and harassed Klopp over and over again.

If they’re ready he’ll put them in, I’m confident in his assessment of youth players for sure

I'd like to believe that but it's a completely different scenario being the Manager who is trying to establish his own position.

Critchley is no Kurtis when it comes to judging youth talent. What with him watching them every day, he's too close, whereas seeing the odd clip on a twitter coverage gives the true worth of a player.

Certainly not saying he's ready to lead the line Wiz, but he certainly has an eye for goal. Given that we are struggling for goals, given that we can name 7 subs, given that we can make up to 5 changes, why not give him a punt from the bench.
Critchley says he's going to be in and around the squad in games to come, just saying with Madine out and Lubala seemingly out the picture, he could have brought him into the squad earlier.

Absolute shite reply.

Why put a youth team player on the bench, say he has a goal in him and then not play him. Actually more ridiculous than before.

Many managers and coaches put a youth team player on the bench to gain the experience and confidence boost of simply being around the first team players on match day. In my opinion, if the match reaches a point where we are comfortably ahead, I'd put the player on for last 10-20 mins (like Critch put Apter on). For their progression, the experience HAS to be a positive one initially.

If Holmes had been brought on against Burton, where would he have played? Like for like for Yates? We looked far better playing in a 4231 in the second half as it gave us the extra man in midfield. 442 with Simms and Yates wasn’t working. It was Critchley’s half time tweak that changed things.

From the little bit I know about the u/18s Brad appears to play as one of a fairly mobile front three.

Left or right of Yates
That said with KK upping his game it was the right call not too introduce
