Probably the reason we brought McCarthy in, Birmingham for Rooney, Palace got Hodgson back
Happens all the time Wilf and when these managers fail and get sacked then the club pay out the contract as well as a wage to the incumbent manager.
No wonder a lot of clubs are in dire straits with their finances when it comes to the managerial merry-go-round.

Mark Hughes was a big I am unfortunately. As for Gary he was well thought of by a lot of the fans who were sorry to see him go, lacked backing apparently.
