Released by T'Rovers, been at the club for over 6 years so more than likely settled in the North West. Has had his fair share of injuries (so would suit us perfectly), a lot of Blackburn supporters seem to think he would have been worth another 12 month contract.

A. Worth a look?
B. Too injury prone (two significant ACL injuries already).
C. Wages too high.
D. We could do better.
E. Just what we need.

Worth asking about, but again suspect someone else will offer him far more money than we will be willing to risk on him - and it would be a risk, cannot afford another Stewart on the book for this season.

Too risky. Injury prone and a bit of a show pony. Only worth it if we were awash with spare cash to take punts on players.

Top player who was destined for bigger things, there will be a reason why he was released and it wouldn't have been about his ability, we have all harped on about the amount of injuries we have had so would your really want this player.

He played 33 times this season for Rovers and in his words, he thought he could have played more, he finished their third highest goalscorer with 7 goals. Seems to think he's over his injury problems, thanking their manager for improving his fitness.

Excellent player but contract would have to be based on appearances for me. Also suspect whatever wages we pay will be dwarfed elsewhere

A show pony? When he's fit he's one of the best players in the Championship and you could argue should have been playing at a higher level.

No chance he'll be in League 1. I'd imagine a solid Championship team will take him no problem.

He'll boss a game if we're on top, but if it's backs to the walls he'll be nowhere to be seen.

I agree a championship club with money to burn will have him as a squad player.

His wages are zero at the moment … would be a little worried about taking on someone who has had two big cruciate injuries … wonder if Mowbray sees him as a low-cost gamble at Sunderland if he stays?
very good player. he was on the verge of a prem move before his first bad injury. never quite the same player since, unfortunately for him.

i could see mowbray and sunderland taking a risk on him. the big difference is we probably can't afford to, and they can.
