The Armenian must have opened in about 1977 as I remember my long departed grandad, who lived near Harrowside getting a kebab from there to see what they were all about. I was around 10 years old.
At the time weren't all that impressed to be honest but not many years after that first try my head was eternally turned. Beer and friendly persuasion may have played a small part!
I am sure that I am not alone in my thought of being so very grateful to Nerses, or the kebab man, as he was affectionately known to us, for bringing this 2nd try at 'foreign' food (Paramount Chinese being the first) to South Shore.

A legend that will always be remembered fondly.
