British open practice day, worth going?

It's getting busy round West Kirby and Hoylake now. If the weather stays broadly like this it could be a challenging week. Was blowing a hoolie last night and showers forecast all through i think. That said, it's a bit lame how they control the rough to stop the pros moaning. They will have to navigate through the endless corporate facilities though - more than ever this time round.

Ive worked there, & Birkdale & Lytham, driving the Pros around, great fun, and an insite into another world, May try to do it again when I retire in the next year or so. The drive each morning to the Wirral from the Gold Coast was a challenge.... 😁 The practice days are defiantly the best, as when there's money at stake, it all gets very serious...

The Open Championship practice days are great ways to see players preparing. Shame its rather dear, food and drink costs fortune. I know why, shame its all about money.

Loved going to the Royal Lytham practice days as a kid. Met Seve and got him to sign my program. Still one of my most prized possessions, as he signed it he ripped the page and said shit in his Spanish accent. We thought it was hilarious.

Just so expensive nowadays and ridiculously hard to get a ticket. I'm going on Friday after getting lucky with spares after thr ballot. Looking forward to it but I will always remember the Lytham potg days and earlier as a kid when you could walk in for nowt after 5 on the Thursday and Friday with a bag of tinnies. Happy days!
