Bruce Crawford RIP

Sad to report that Bruce Crawford passed away recently. An inside forward who made nearly 100 appearances for us between
1959 and 1965 scoring some important goals, none more so than the clinching goal at Birmingham in April 1961 which
virtually guaranteed our survival that season. Although he won an England under 23 cap in 1962 he was in and out of the team
and signed for Tranmere Rovers in 1965 .

RIP , Bruce.

I’d luckily spoken to him a few times recently in the highfield social where he liked to have a little drink, and where the team photo of Blackpool with him on it, was on the wall. Always very welcoming, and thankfully said that the club would always do little bits for him and invite him to some games. Lovely fella. RIP sir

RIP Bruce. The vital goal he scored v Birmingham in 1961 is on You Tube on the heavy roller channel.Very good finish it was as well.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Bruce in the past few years. He had some great anecdotes about George Farm, Stan Matthews and Sir Jimmy when he was a young lad breaking into the first team.

He was proud to play for the Pool and will be sadly missed.

Rest in peace Bruce 🧡

Allmod, did he used to frequent the Tyldesley Cons? My old man was a pal of his.

Echo other people's sentiments, he was a nice fella.

Would see him a lot down Highfield Road, mainly Highfield Social and Baby Kingfisher. He was in the first Blackpool team my step dad watched so they would chat about those times, I was lucky to hear some great stories. Unfortunately my step dad passed away last year and now Bruce. RIP.

I enjoyed watching Bruce Crawford playing for Pool and his partnership with Alan Ball, he played over 100 games for Pool in the early 1960s and was a star in the making then something happened and he hardly featured in the 1st team anymore and went to Tranmere.

I remember seeing Bruce Crawford play in the early 60's. From memory he was a decent regular in the team at the time, from memory played on the wing. RIP Bruce.
