Whenever I met him he was a decent bloke, and didn’t deserve all the vitriol that came his way - especially his nickname!!!
 
Heard he had to get out of Israel in October with some bizarre escapade as no international flights and is living in South Manchester.

It's probably not run that much different to other clubs now. Just looks odd to us having a paid CEO talking in soundbytes for a couple of years before moving on. SS seems to have churned his way through a lot of senior management staff so far. It's not done by fan vote you know.

So he had no involvement in our downfall as the CEO (all Sadler's fault), but is a major influence on his new club's success because he's the same position there, as he was here? Not sure that adds up personally.

Spot on.

He was sacked because he failed, I think mainly because there was no plan in the event of Critchley leaving so we panicked and got The Fraud.

Well, I heard it from a very good authority. Sadler pulls the strings, but then I'll just be accused of bashing Sadler again, but of course I was accused of that for years about the Oystons too.

He was our first proper football CEO and made the club operate on a much more professional footing and marked the dawn of a new era at the club and one for the better.

If we hadn't been relegated there would have been no noise towards him. That's the industry he works in, you're there to be shot at the minute it goes wrong.
 
Most of the criticism came from the stupid interviews he did. No problems with him, but let’s not pretend he didn’t give it the big one. He’ll have learned from it.
 
A good operator, but he warranted the nickname. Spouted all sorts of nonsense.

Not sure he was dead against the Appleton appointment but it was certainly SS who was wooed during the interview process.
 
Should have done much more in my opinion when things were turning sour on the pitch and relegation was becoming more and more a reality as he was running the club while Sadler was half way round the world.
I’m not saying all of the abuse he got was justified but he clearly wasn't devoid of any any criticism as it was a case of too little too late in the end and he was in the high chair.

Having said that, we're in the same position when Sadler took over and I don't expect things to change anytime soon, we're just shit at getting things right for some reason.
