Were they really that poor? They’ve actually been active in the transfer market one of the worst teams I’ve seen down here we were hardly tested

I figured Burton would be a decent yardstick, they're an average L1 team. We'll play a lot of teams worse than them. It just felt very controlled and at times we were head and shoulder cleat of them. A solid start.

That was a stroll for Blackpool, hope it’s that easy all season
I hope we get tested more than that, the team took their foot off the gas in the second half, the atmosphere died and we strolled home easy winners with the 12th man half asleep! Barnsley turned the screw and ended up 7-0 winners, we could have done similar but chose to turn off!

I didn't feel like we had to get out of 3rd gear... Game management was great to see too in the 2nd half, boring to watch but clean sheet & 3 points you can't moan at that... Well, the old boys behind me in P block can but you can't please everyone...

There will be bigger tests than that, ones where giving the ball away in your own half will get punished and where not taking the best option in the opposition box will come back to bite.

Starting next Saturday.

Same here, but the usual miserable 4 or 5 folk behind me in D block! Spouting the usual shit and offensive towards Ekpiteta and CJ even when we were 2 up. Thompson even got a mention a couple of times despite the fact he didn't even play! Struggling to think what the common factor is with the players they seem to dislike!? 🤔

I did notice earlier on today that eight of the eleven Burton players were in the team that were beaten quite well by Scunthorpe a week or so ago. But a win is a win and we move on to Exeter and match 3 of 46. 👍😁

They finished the season strongly when JFH was sacked last season, second half of the season they were a top seven side. They've added players and probably expected a better performance.
It was too easy for us and lead to mistakes borne of complacency.
If Lyons isn't a better wing back than Connolly, I'm Donald Trump's love child.

Someone posted a Burton watch thread on here and I was impressed with their business but the fact they lost 2-0 at Scunny last weekend should have maybe been the real indicator. Oh and thought Cole Stockton was a fat lump!

If they'd been behind me I'd have called them out on it

It's hard to gauge how poor Burton were in relation to other league one sides, because we're used to seeing Championship teams.
I hope it doesn't make us complacent in the transfer market, thinking there is no urgency to strengthen.

Reminds me of the season before last and Matt Phillips was playing against us… the bloke in front of me kept having a go and a tone point said ‘I can’t believe he has just ran… the lazy bastard never ran when he was here’
I got up up compilation and passed it to the bastard.

The first 4 or 5 games are rarely a yard stick. It’s why I’m the Prem teams like City and Utd lose to crappier teams in the first month.
We’ve just got to get it September with a decent point haul - it’s then the teams settle down

Youre right, we are still building the team. Hopefully we'll have a balanced side with proper wing backs by September. And a bit more fire power to help Lavery.

Exeter are a team on the up and they will test our metal for sure.

If you’re calling them racist then call them out on it! Or report n the grass line

The fact your bringing skin colour into this says more about you than the moaners behind you who didn't.
