Can we have a bit of faith now?

Want to stress this isn’t me running on here to tell everyone “I told you so”. Lots of the criticisms directed towards this Critchley have been valid and I’ve agreed with some of it.

But can this result allow some of you to just calm down a bit, get a sense of perspective, and realise that we have a guy in charge who is capable of getting the best out of this squad, if he’s given the time and patience by supporters.

He’s shown through both spells that he can learn from mistakes and make the changes necessary to get us firing. It’s a horrible league to be in and a long old season, but the players are clearly buying into him and everything he’s trying to do. Hopefully after today a lot of the doubters can do the same.

Let's not kid ourselves, today could have gone very differently. We were under the cosh for most of the first half and could only see the second half going one way, like it usually does. We got lucky with the second offside goal and the red card moments later killing the game, but 9 times out of ten we are going to lose that game without the rub of the green we had. Everyone just needs to calm down a little.

But it wasn't different and we deserved to beat this bunch.

What a great team performance with a few standouts. But I’ll wait for Seasiders Podcast to settle it for me. Loved listening to the Pompey commentators. Certainly shut their moaning up after the sending off and they started to appreciate just how strong we are.

You sound like bags of fun.

Jord you were watching a different game to me.

Totally in control from start to finish. Under the cosh? Utter bollocks.

Their fans clearly didnt agree with you, streaming out on the hour.

He's cost us so many points, most Blackpool fans knew our strongest teams weeks ago..

And that’s why he’s the manager - managing Dembele to full match fitness gradually, starting Beesley, playing Marv again building confidence as just a few examples. It’s easy being an armchair supporter, not knowing fitness and conditioning , confidence and personal issues of players that he will. There’s also a long season with cup runs and league games so rotating players.

Jord that logic applies in reverse to so many other games where the ref or luck has not been on our side.

Sooner or later you’ll have to accept you were wrong and we’ve got a decent team here with a manager that fits our club well.

He will never admit he is wrong he is not and never has been a supporter of our club.

You make your own luck… We scored early and defended superbly away from home against the unbeaten league leaders.

The second goal was going in anyway and frankly we came out second half looking head and shoulders the better side.

The Red Card was down to frustration, because they were being comprehensively beaten by a better side.

A sending off can often rally the affected side, but it was a professional performance from Blackpool and we nailed them completely in the end.

The result didn’t go differently… It was a 4-0 whitewash and it’s been coming for a while because if anything it’s Blackpool who’ve been short-changed in many of our earlier results, where performances have merited a better outcome for us and all the luck has been with our opponents.

Today is a ** good day…. 👍

We didn’t need to lose as many points to have enough faith in the players to let them play properly rather than negatively. So only now are we showing our real selves. At least we look to be getting there now, as no other team has looked anything to be scared of, which makes our nil nil Nick one set ups look ridiculously cautious and risk averse and self harming.

We certainly did need to do better on the road and this result…wow! It’s a statement alright! . It might springboard that now as teams set up to defend again at us more and fall into the tactics trap that we’ve just climbed out of.

You can all enjoy the weekend now. A win was great but that was an early Xmas present.
We can be a force that the rest of the league will plan a defence for. And, when that happens, we are unlikely to be pressured at the back. Dembele, CJ and Joseph will see more of the ball and goals will come.
PS: they all played well today but I’d say that Dougall ruled the roost.

I find people like you who sit in their armchairs slagging off our fantastic manager really tiresome.

You contribute zero to the football club and are the worst type of so-called fan that we have.
I take it you went today, not. I 've been earning double time today and managing to catch the game on a mates app, win, win for me ! What about you ?

I agree 100% cant we just enjoy the result and give credit where its due both to Critchley and the team roll on Tuesday i say. i find it very difficult to find negatives in a 4-0 win, odd pass gone arry or tackle missed but who cares look at the bigger picture and move. Critchley will be saying good job done plan worked out.

Critchley (by his actions and his words) has never had a negative approach.

It’s always been about getting the squad to gel and the system to bed in.

No surprise that our these two consecutive wins have come on the back of him having time (after a manic schedule) to get some quality time in on the training pitch.

You can’t rush a masterpiece!!

WE have a squad of twenty odd players ALL able to fit in to the team as an when required. Like Critchley said on the radio the group is coming together . Whoever is playing on matchday. Dont really care who starts. They are all capable of performing when required. Four goals from different players. They are all contributing.

Nonsense. You’d struggle to find a Pompey fan who don’t think we were good value for that today. They had a decent spell in the first half but we handled them brilliantly and outworked and outplayed them. Tactical masterclass from the coach and the perfect execution - to a man - on the field

First 15 mins we were sharper than them but they had control of the rest of the half

2nd half we were sharper or them less so - they definitely went down a notch or two & they never found their ryrhym and the ref bizarrely started penalising their ill discipline - we had a lot of soft yellows first half and they got away with plenty of yellows throughout

At h T the difference between the 2 sides was we could defend and they couldn’t - we were always going to get a good chance or two and so it proved - we could have won by more tbh - both sides were good going forward too - nice on the eye game - good passing, tackling and goals

In the end they got mullered and we stroked the ball around as nicely as boats sailing serenely down The Channel

Given the number of matches more we’ve played that win keeps us within touching distance - we must close the gap on Tues v N’ton

Stay warm and be in big voice Tues

Absolutely.

CJ was shite a month ago.
Dembele was lightweight
Beesley was North West Counties standard
Dougall was giving away possession
Carey was anonymous
Dale was playing on the wrong wing.
Ekpiteta couldn't pass water

For starters.
Beesley north west Counties standard? i dont know what to say

I'm not saying it, the hindsight experts on here were saying it last month. Now he's in the team Critchley should have been picking if only he listened to the board. Deluded fantasy.

What is crystal clear to all is that Critchley is a proper coach who knows how to get the best from players and how to influence games. Contrast that with Appleton and McCarthy. There is simply no comparison.

We are in a purple patch which won’t go on for the rest of the season we know but if we can maintain 75% of the effort and workrate of the last two games we will be in the shake up for promotion.

Easy to say this on the back of a couple of brilliant results but we are miles behind the top two and have played more games than most.

Save these kinds of posts until we are nailed on top 6.
