Car wrote off

I've had the settlement offer yesterday which I clicked accept. I've filled in the Gov link I got which goes to Copart Salvage. I've contacted Copart, and given them the claim ref number, they said they haven't received anything on their end yet.

A few things I want to ask.

1. Should I chase up and ring esure claims to get them to email Copart (they instructed me to)
2. On the is my car insured (searched on Google) my car is still showing as insured, it does drive still. Plus Esure said my policy will end on 2nd November. So can I make a few sneaky small journeys?
3. When will I receive this payment so I can get another car and carry on with my life and get from A to B...
4. Anything else I need to do??

It’s a minefield mate, my daughter had one written off with sheilas wheels earlier this year and it took forever to get a settlement. Hopefully your insurance company is better

When ours was written off ( not our fault) we were given a courtesy car until payment was received and a new car in our possession think it took two weeks from start to finish

Once you get your settlement you'll need to transfer ownership to copart. There is an online dvlc service for this.

Happened to me last month. Confusing thing for me was how long I needed to keep the write off insured especially as I bought another car before the insurance payout was made. Eventually ins Co agreed I didn't need to insure once copart were in possession, rather than the ownership had changed.
