Cardiff City v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 17.12.22

It was a point I'd have gladly taken before kick off to be honest. Poor first half again and we could have been a lot further behind at the break, I thought Grimshaw could have done better with their goal but he more than made up for it with a decent stop in the second half.

We need to continue with 4-4-2 it's so bloody obvious it suits our players so much better, play Madine and Jerry as the front two, Poveda needs to start on one side and maybe even CJ on the other because for all his chasing I'm not sure what Lavery is bringing to the table at the moment. the other two midfielders more or less pick themselves (Dougall and Patino) and the back four Connolly until Lyons can play, Marv, Husband and Garbutt or Thompson.
At least with a side like that it plays to our strengths more and there's decent replacements on the bench with Beesley for Madine, Lavery for Yates and so on.
Let's get to the transfer window and see where we are, if we are sticking with Appleton, and it does look as if we are, he needs decent backing in this window. As I've said before if we want to stay in this league, back him or sack him but don't piss about somewhere in the middle.
