Was has attendances got to do with performances? Do we completely ignore the fact we were in the Championship last season?

It's boring and the real pain is knowing we will have to put up with another season of watching a crap 3-5-2 system that turns people to drugs.

I will always enjoy a win whether it’s exciting or dull, Baresi.

We’ve been shit all my life of watching them barring a few seasons. I take joy where I can.

Teams with the largest attendances, have biggest revenue and spend power. If you look in any league most teams end up in a band around their attendance position. There’s always outliers (us under Holloway and Newcastle / Sunderland in most seasons) but the statistics always play out.
 
Not a great performance, strikers unbelievably sh1t again, defence nearly cost us again but in poor conditions a wins a win. Manager needs to recruit well in the summer but I wouldn't agree that he's holding us back. I'd say the players are just as or more guilty of that.

That was significantly more difficult than it should have been. Played reasonably well first half against a team who were just awful. Should have been 6-0 up by half time really. Even in the first half though how many times did we get to the penalty box and then just pass it about without any real intent, it's just so pedestrian. As soon as Carlisle made a change we had no answer and let them into the game.

I see your point, but is it not for developments such as these that you're meant to have certain contingency plans in place?

OK, I understand. I was being more short term. Oxford are on their game. For me, they are the play-off winning team. Them or Derby.
I was more about getting into the play-offs. I am of a mind to say, (a) it's a long shot but (b) if we get into them, we'll win them.

Good point. We're existing on the margins but yes, it's still possible.

Pray that we go up ? Not good enough. We should have put 5/6 past them yesterday. The proof is in the pudding, sadly lacking ingredience.

Yes let's completely ignore the sloppy goals we have conceded all season which is why we have missed out. A 3-5-2 is built on a solid foundation and we have been anything but. Bit better recently but too late.

No we have been hopeless. Simple balls over the top getting through. Poor at set pieces as the three centre halves leave it for one another.

In the games where we have lost to the likes of Stevenage, Port Vale, Burton, etc the top teams would be tight where as we just looked like conceding all the time and we did.

The defence has been just as big as a problem as our strikers. Poor all around.
