Carrick

May be down to the public humiliation Roy Keane served him after Olle was sacked.

Along the lines of Olle trusted them (Carrick and Phelan) and left all of the day to day training to them and they failed him. What's left looks like it's jobs for the boys and they should be ashamed and embarrassed to stay on after his departure.

Not sure Keanes managerial record stands up to close scrutiny.
He just likes to make big statements as a pundit.
Maybe Carrick understood the world loyalty(to Oli) rather than the McCall version.

Man Utd need to build a coaching team. Carrick has shown little evidence of being one, given so few players have improved whilst he has been at Man Utd in a coaching capacity.

Style wise, Rangnick is going to be a complete departure from OGS's style of play so it makes sense to have a fresh team.

Didn't Carrick sign a new contract recently? If so, it seems pretty honourable of him to walk, and presumably forego his salary for the term of the contract. Sacrificed his own interests. Presumably means that Phelan and others are hanging in there. And Rangnick is going to have to work alongside people with no experience of his methods who have shown little aptitude for the role! Unless they follow Carrick out of the door.
